      It took an hour to fly from Heho to Thande which is near the seaside resort of Ngapali. The small airports are quite primitive with the way they process passengers. Luggage is individually handled by porters and miraculously reappears in the right place. Everyone is given a coloured sticker which denotes their flight and once in departures you wait to be ushered on to the flight by gesticulating staff.       ... that even Mrs Gordon would approve of ! The manager was a man who wandered around and 7 school mistresses. One took a liking to Chris and another really thought she was the head and if the noise increased too much she rapped her cane on the table. None of these children wore uniform but had a bag under their table with all their exercise books in and proudly showed me their English books. Missing ...

      ... while learning the sometimes challenging - and utterly stupid - grammar rules of English, the kids smile and enjoy their time, taking the school's quote "try, try and try again" to heart. I'm honoured to see such bright, kind-hearted individuals taking charge of lives at such a young age. I leave the school, inspired by their dedication.
