Day 3, 4
Day 3 I wasn't traveling at all, I was busy working, However on the forth day I managed to go to a town not far from Barcelona called Lloret de Mar. It is a new town located just near the seashore, with wonderful forests at the same time. There are a lot of hotels there for every type of traveler.

... and very promising until we got out of the car and explored. The village is obviously quite new, and rents must be high, as the prices were high too! How disappointing. We returned to the car with time on our hands and made a decision to visit Tossa De Mar.
Chris & Milly had stayed at Tossa on a previous visit to Spain and raved about it, so we set ...
... by sangria which was followed by port. A very satisfying meal after a long day.
The following day loomed bright and beautiful. Milly had been regaling us with stories of hot chocolate and churros so we went in search of them – to no avail, but we did find that overnight a huge market had set up along the waterfront in L’Escala. There were plenty of bargains here, and it attracted a lot of customers from across the border in ...
... with the amazing view of the swimming pool only a few metres from the French doors of the unit with the sea only a little way beyond that. Stunning!
We decided to reorganize our luggage and pack only enough for the night away and leave the remainder in the room so there would be more room for Chris & Milly’s bags in the car. Things couldn’t have worked out better! It looked like our stay in L’Escala would be a real relaxing break.
... and also you can do a lot of activities. So we thought that we could speak about our surroundings that we know very well and perhaps that can help the people who wants to visit our region.
We hope you will enjoy, the nature, landscape and monuments from the Alt Empordà - Girona - Spain.
Come and discover them!
cerca!
desp escribo desde la muralla!
... or stamp our passports, which was sad. The little town we visited in the south of France was also basically perfect. Sun, sea, beautiful little church, good lunch. Words really aren't enough to describe this different kind of reality I encountered on this trip. See pictures below-it was wonderful. And the few French people I met (the waitress....) did not seem to hate me, which is always nice.
Girona was our home base for this weekend, and ...
... to completion. Amazing place. Full concrete factory inside the church and spending around 1 million euro per month on construction (but bringing in 50M Euro pa from tourists)
Sitting on the balcony now having caviar, beer and cheese with my sister and wife....does not get much better than this for our annivesary!!!
... which goes most of the way around the old town. At the top, I stop at the snack shop for a beer and eat the picnic I had prepared. Very relaxing watching the boats go by. I look at the bridge from afar when I can to see if my bag is still there. I pick it up at the end of the day. No problems.
Girona is another town with castle walls. I get there late in the day so all sites are closed. The hostel has only been open a few weeks ...
Sleeping on the sand fully clothed was a new one for us and were forced to wake up by the sun rise. As the sun got higher in the sky we seemed to get more and more lazy until we just decided to stay another night. I´m 22 and still havent managed to learn the sun tan lotion lesson. As a result I now look like the inside of a water melon ...
