    Nice and Clean Motel

It is a nice clean motel. We stay here every year for the Indy 500. It is close to the highway and makes it easy to get to the track.

We went to the museum parking lot, where the old Indycars were displayed. Some of …

Many, many years ago, the race cars had carburetors instead of fuel injectors. They would run the cars a few days before the race to make sure the carburetors were setup correctly. Hence, the name Carb Day. Now it is really just the last day of practice before the big race!

Mom and dad are not as spry as they used to be. They slept in a …

... part of the Biergarten. Today it was on the wall, at the entrance. We hadn’t planned to be there so long, but we were enjoying the ambience. We finally got on the road to Indianapolis around 2:45. Pretty uneventful drive until, we noticed it was quite warm in the car and discovered that the A/C wasn’t working. . What a day for that to happen - it’s over ...

... pillow at Global Gifts. The store owner directed us to a yarn shop so I could get my crochet on. Mass ave knit shop helped us out quite a bit- we got beautiful yarn, extra needles to supplement what I'd left at home, and lotion bars. We left on our way to New Orleans with warnings on the Texas/ southern ...
