Well it is once you filter out the constant noise of the kids and Cartoon Network blaring in the background. Yes it is wasted on the kids: while I'm sitting on the balcony surveying the savannah, reflecting on the wonders of nature and finding inner peace, they are staring mindlessly at the Amazing World of Gumball. ... merry way! Who needs the AA…or jump leads!

About 6.5hours later, a few stops for fruit at the side of the road and the traditional visit to Food City, we arrived. I was greeted by 2 cockroaches, which means there are now 2 less cockroaches in the world.

This morning at Preschool there were about 30 kids. There are usually 45 but apparently there is a viral infection going around. After ...

Chapter 3: Where a monkey steals Toby's shirt

... managed to get directions from a man on an elephant. Once I arrived, bought my ticket and looked around the museum, I set off up the water gardens in the direction of the rock itself. I am not exaggerating when I say that monkeys are everywhere. In Sri Lanka they are seen less as a novelty and more as pests, and I immediately see why as one jumps on my back, rips a carrier bag out of my hand, inspecting the contents with some degree of indifference, before making off ...
