... in their government ruled bottle shops, our choices were limited to Veuve or a local sparkling we had discovered. Asking for a case of local sparkling had Rae pondering what the hell she was in for. Their house is on the lake in a magnificent location and you feel you have been transformed into paradise. A lovely dinner and a few wines later, it was off to bed after having the first of many funny nights. Tuesday had us up and ready for our first day of discovering The ...

... 8217;, shoved down your throat. Impressive establishment, but not so much to our tastes.

It was now late afternoon. From here, we stopped briefly in town to a small market complex called Guisachan Market, which houses a bakery, deli, fish shop and other such shops, where we bought a feast of bread, salmon, charcuterie and cheese for tea. Went to a onsie party in our building and then continued on to Sophie's friend place for drinks there to which is also in the ...

It was a really interesting visit to this vineyard; passion and attention to detail seemed to be the order of the day.

The next stop was the opposite; a small family run producer of ...

Monday 6/17/2013: Driving toward Banff National Park from Kelowna BC

We are heading toward Calgary as Banff is not that far from Calgary.

We are driving on Hwy 97A above Lake Kalmalka Lake in BC.

This area reminds me of pictures I have seen of England's Lake District. This is so beautiful. Picture a huge valley surrounded by high mountains with a huge lake at the bottom of the valley. Manicured crops grow on the hillsides of ...
