Siesta I Puerto Alcudia

Die letzte Woche vor unserer Reise ist angebrochen. Wir geniessen noch immer herlichstes Wetter in einem November der so warm ist wie seit 30 Jahren nicht mehr. Winterpullis? Jacken? Nicht die Spur! Kofferpacken - jaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Nos queda una semana hasta que nos vamos. Aqui disfrutamos el Noviembre mas calido hace 30 años! Ni bufanda, ni chaqueta - de maravilla! Bueno, vamos a por las maletas! Siiiiiiiiii

There are other boats around so I can’t just yell out until I get someone’s attention so I was stuck. I could either find a phone and call, return to the club, or just wait. We arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.

... lunch was served buffet style on the main deck so everyone could eat at their leasure and were it was the most convenient for them.

Waterskiing is very exhausting and after a few hours of playing on the water, the crew loaded everything up and we headed down to coast to the small village of sa Calobra on the Cala de Calobra.

... from Germany. Good music, dancing starts up. We leave at 1:30 to catch the last bus. I am relying on my roommate who is totally confident about the schedule. Well, we wait with others but find out the last bus left awhile back. We need to find a cab which is difficult since everyone is trying to get to a bar/club somewhere. We finally get one. A late night by my standards but just starting to get going. My back could not take any more.

Breakfast is provided at the hostel. Coffee, juice, toast and cereal (cornflakes or cocoa puffs). It serves the purpose.

I go to the Palma city center (20 minutes by bus). The historic area is OK. Cathedral is beautiful and there is a Moorish castle. Most of the city lacks character. So, this is pretty much a beach island although I understand there are some nice hikes in its more remote hills.

Early morning to the airport for my trip to Mallorca, Spain, an island that is a major beach resort. Everyone is still asleep as I put the final stuff in my backpack. I have enough time so I stop by a supermarket for a liter of yogurt and a pastry store for some chocolate croissants. What do they think as I stop in with my large backpack making me 6'9" and my front backpack making me look pregnant. I can barely make it through the aisles.
