Sierra View Motel and Suites Mariposa

... ně první večer, kdy jsme dorazili na nocležiště (3300 m. n. m.) za světla, takže po večeři mastíme karty. V sedmě beznadějně prohrávám... Vzhledem k tomu, že jsme v pohoří Sierra Nevada, jejichž nadmořská výška odpovídá Alpám (i když teplo přes den je matoucí), na noc se všichni navlíkáme do spacáků a přikrýváme dekama. Bohatě se nám to vyplatilo.

I'm guessing that guy saw a bear in the middle of the night and you're supposed to make as much noise as possible. ... and another which I can't remember at the moment as I was having an internal meltdown at his rudeness. They were okay not as good as what we had tasted at other places but I will say the Hef was outstanding, crisp and refreshing.

We head back to the hotel and hang out by the pool so Marshall can enjoy his cigar and just relax. It is 80 degrees but there is no humidity so it was totally enjoyable. Tomorrow, bright and early we head to Yosemite.

... een stuk gaan lopen. Omdat we zo dichtbij het park zaten waren we na 45 minuten al bij de entree. Nou wil het geval dat voor elke park zo'n 20 of 25 dollar entree moet betalen. Er is echter ook een een mogelijkheid een pas te kopen waarvoor je toegang hebt tot alle parken, deze kost 80 dollar. Als je zeker weet dat je alle parken gaat bezoeken kun je net zo goed deze pas kopen, wij wisten nog niet hoe het ging lopen. Echter, het blijkt nu ...

... We bought day passes for $11 each, which meant we could hop on/off any of the public transport system. We queued for about 45 minutes to get on, but that was really not a problem, as we had a lovely view of the SF bay, and there was so much going on, especially with the men manually turning the cable cars every 9 minutes. ... about 20 minutes later and checked in. The room was nice despite the fact that the lodge was a little disappointing. We were expecting more of a real mountain-type lodge with log fires burning etc. but found it to be more of a motel style hotel with all the rooms outside of the main building. Well - we were only there for the night and were planning on heading off early the next morning so as to make the most of our day in Yosemite.
