Arrived on Gili Trawangan and won't be doing much except sleep sunbath and go out in the evenings! No culture here. Only here for three days luckily! Think Malia or somewhere along those lines but full of Aussies! Went snorkelling on our first day, paid to be taken out on a boat. It was absolutely amazing! We saw so many colourful fish, and two sea turtles! Coral reefs everywhere and the clearest blue waters I've ever swam ...
... stop of our tour. We had to pay a small fee for entry to the National park (made up of Komodo and Rinca) and then another small fee for a guide. Straight away we saw a group of very large Komodo dragons, they had gathered outside the staff canteen. Komodos taste the air as snakes do and can detect blood from up to 10km away, they are also cannibals so no smaller dragons would dare to join the larger ones to smell the food that was being cooked. Today I went for a Greek salad and then bought ...
It doesn't matter how many times I do this but I love the boat ride out to the divesites and back again. There's just something about being up the front of the boat as it cuts through the water. Taking in the scenery of the little sandy atolls of Trawangan and Meno. The majesty and dramatic landscape of Lombok with Mt Rinjani's summit peaking out behind the summit clouds.
Just being on the boat in the midst of this scenic grandeur makes me ...
