Today we arrived in the Greek Island of Corfu. It was quite rocky over night and when we arrived in Corfu it was rainy and overcast. Today's tour included the highlights of Corfu and wine tasting. We went to the monastery of the Virgin Mary first. I must admit there were a few times I said a few prayers when I could look out the bus straight down the cliff. I just hoped the driver had done this before as they don't leave any room for error. Day 46 - Corfu Greek Island
This morning we were up early to participate in a behind the scenes ship tour we signed up for. There was only room for a maximum of 40 passengers. The cost of the tour was about 35pp. Toby had complained about having to pay to tour the ship. On the P&O it is free. Anyway I wanted to do it so i signed us up. We stayed almost beach side with a lovely owner and immaculate facilities.

AFL grand final day in Montenegro didn’t quite have the atmosphere ...

... manual. But Brian left his licence behind, so guess who got the gig as driver? We started well, driving from the main town of Kerkira to Paleostritsa, where we took a boat-ride to the famous caves. The coastline there is so like Broughton! From the rocks and rugged headlands to the blue-green water, we were amazed at the similarities. The place was even inhabited by crusty old fishermen! There was a "blue cave" and indeed the water ...

... separated from the mainland by a channel cut across the beginning of it. The major fortifications were the result of activity by the Venetians in the 14th century after they annexed the island to the Republic of Venice although construction started in the 6th Century AD by the Byzantine Empire. Everybody has had a crack at it including the British in the 19th century. When we left the fort we spied a little tourist ...
