... age of 50 working on these farms.
It shows that the generation is changing and that people are not interested in carrying on tradition but to get out of the rural areas and go to the city.
The Scenery was beautiful, and i mean really beautiful, like nothing you can see anywhere else, soaring lime stone peaks as far as the eye can see, lush green vegetation and clear river waters. It is something we will never experience again, there is one disadvantage though ...
... to stay any longer.
The boat ride was awesome, a much smaller speed boat this time, and we were back on the mainland in about 40 minutes. Quick taxi to the bus station and before I knew it we were completing border formalities. There were a lot of Belize nationals on the bus, and they had a dedicated line at immigration which took much longer than ours, holding the bus up. We were still in the Mexican border town of Chetumal about an hour before our bus left, however they ...
... and other small fish swam about. When the sun shined, light would pour into spots in the water where you can see to the bottom. The pool ranged from 1.5 meters up to 17 meters deep at the edge. It was like a lost world. Birds chirped and fluttered around us as we jumped into the chilly water. Little fishes approached us and began nibbling the dead skin off our feet. And people pay so much in NY for this when they could experience ...
Tulum, Mexico tipperoonie... More than 7 years ago when I was in Tulum for the first time, you can park your car close to the ruins and there was nothing between the park car and the ruins but now ... uff there are restaurants, a ...
Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico perez_r... experience of Mexico but I assured them that Tulum wasn´t the Mexican "norm". I don´t want to run down the place but it just wasn´t the cheap alternative to Cancun that we were expecting. While we were there, Mish and I decided to treat ourselves to a day of Cenote diving and sea fishing. Cenotes are fresh water pools, hidden in the jungle with tunnels that lead out to the sea. Our guide lead us to one close by, where we excitedly plunged in and used a ...

One negative point worth noting, and which I briefly alluded to previously, is the constant stream of visitors to the ruin. Its proximity to the modern tourism developments along the Mexican Caribbean coastline (the so-called "Riviera Maya" surrounding Cancun) has made it a popular destination for tourists and the third most visited archaeological site in Mexico. Its popularity relates to ...
Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico yorkieandloxy... He had on a cowboy hat and was giving the "V" sign with his hands which means victory. Look at the pic, he is really cute. Yes, they did have strange things we did not have, but it was not that different than other supermarkets we visited in China. However, this store had a terracotta warrior greeting you as you left the store. Priceless. The next morning, we got up and went on a bike ride around the city wall. We rode on top of the city wall which was pretty fun ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China laytonandjana... that most of them were delicious. With Laura and Mom eating vegetarian, they were very accommodating. The show is designed as a history of the Tang Dynasty. It takes roots from the historical records and folk legends about the Tang Dynasty and shows the audience the court life and social costumes of more than 1,300 years ago. After a very hectic and long day in Xi'an we called it a night so we'd be ready for a 0900 flight to Beijing.
Xi'an, China laura1... After dinner, we came back to the hotel, where we obviously now have more convenient internet connections and relaxed and are preparing for leisurely trip to see the terracotta warriors tomorrow. Today the weather is, again, beautiful and upper 60's and sunny. Athough the air is much more polluted here and you can feel it in your lungs much more. It is the dry season, so the dust is stirred much more by the wind.
Xi'an, China brookie... asi kilometr.
