... we climbed the viewing tower which gave us amazing 360 degree panoramic views of the sea and inland lake. After posing with some of the local metal work men, we decided to walk to the reclining Buddha at the opposite end of the island. Oddly, however, the residents of Koh Yor seem to have an aversion to pavements, so despite our best efforts to find an off-road path, we found ourselves walking down the bike lane of a three lane highway. So we tried to book our train to malaysia from Khao Sok with all of the agencies laughing, saying malaysia was too far and telling us we needed to go to Suratthani to book our train ticket. So off we ventured in our minibus ready to get on a direct train to butterworth....and then we got to suratthani and were told the train was fully booked. Not knowing what to do we wandered around for a bit before deciding to book our train ticket to Hat ...

If a Thai person says a dish is only a tiny bit spicy it will most likely melt your face.

Ready Player One (Ernest Cline?) Finished, best book I have read in a long time, highly recommend!

... 5:45am the next day. It would be 6:45am to us because Malaysia is and hour ahead of Thailand. The train station was weird at hat Yai to get to the other platforms you had to walk across the train tracks I took a picture the only picture I took in Hat Yai. I was so scared going across it. We were on platform 4 so we had to do it twice.

The train was ok apart from we had 2 screaming children and it felt like ...

Leaving Bangkok for the final time, we saw it all again, including all the shantytowns along the lineside, and all the little settlements which was cool, not long after leaving Bangkok it turned to farmland, rice paddies, banana and coconut plantations and the farming settlements, little towns and villages along the way - was nice to see countryside again!
