... was an adventure in the dark. I promise to learn Thai before I ever come back here. Mosquitos have been on a rampage the last few days and have had an all out assault. I will head back today and shoot photos on the way. This part of Northern Thailand (like most places) should be explored for 7 to 10 days so you can try and see many places and go on nature hikes or whatever you want to do.

Trekking in the national park

In the national park we drove to the highest peak in Thailand, which has 2 pagodas dedicated to the King and Queen. We stayed the night at a school - a lone building on the hillside, which we struggled to find in the dark. It was a bit touch and go driving along the dirt tracks at night with a big drop on 1 side!

This evening involved a Thai cultural lesson. I'm not too sure what we learnt but it was good fun! After attempting to get us to speak some Thai - no easy feat as being a tonal language it's tough for us to get our heads around, we go to sing some songs. The banana dance was hilarious from our coordinators and if you get us enough drinks when we're home we might demonstrate the genious of it to you!

... On the way we stopped at a morning market which didn't have much as we were too early! We then went to to a small village and went to a local school to see the children and they were just beautiful little souls! So happy and energetic, playing with all of us and running around laughing and giggling constantly! The photos are just amazing of them all.
