They all have their own stories about how they came to be in the park (most were injured or badly treated) and it's funny to see all there different personalities. Our favourite was the elephant who liked to be early for his daily foot exercises as he got more food, which we discovered when he ran through our group in anticipation (see cover photo). ...

Ironically as we set out towards Hot we enjoyed our coolest spell of riding as the temperature plummeted south to the low thirties!!! Our "Hot 100" was a ride to remember and the bends, scenery and vistas have now become a cliche. So moving on .... ... was a tourism office and shop which was both closed (most of them are now because it is out of season) a small lake and then we saw the main star attraction, a concrete block that looked like a old jacuzzi or a baby pool filled with dirty stinky water. It was hot, I felt it, it was very hot. ... leech infested area so we took our boots off for leech inspection. We both had a few remaining on our boots which we got rid off plus one stuck to my leg which we got rid of just in time before it started eating me! Ewww! Our guide didn't care. He just had blood pouring down his legs with a big smile on his face!

For the remainder of the day we followed the river, literally, back to the village we started at. We had the similar hardcore paths ...

Soon we reach a small group of makeshift restaurants on the roadside and realise we've found the entrance of the waterfall. We had spotted signs of a stream on the ride up and are excited to find the source. The sound of rushing water alerts us that we're near by. The path is incredibly well sign posted and clean.
