... 6 pm, which was really good time considering how many stops we made. This little town isn't a tourist spot, so there are no hostels. It is however, the off season. We walked down the street, popped into the first building that looked like a hotel (which took a couple minutes of walking..) and asked how much a room for 3 would be. 700 Baht. for three- that's 20.50 to split 3 ways. ... Hong Son before dusk. It's quite a small but very pretty place, there looks to be some amazing temples that look tiny, almost toy-model like bat the edge of a simple, but near-perfect lake. A guesthouse marked on our map was our choice, and it might be the reason for Mae Hong Son's positive write-up: a small place which no had stayed in for a while apparently, with nice rooms but most notably the friendliest of hosts, offering us free fruit, water, tea, coffee throughout our stay ...

... find a huge land split across his farm. No earthquake, rain or flooding, it just appeared, destroying his crop and income. Scientists believe it occurred from water pressure under the ground. The first split happened in 2008, reaching 2 metres wide and 11 metres deep. As the years went by the land split extended and widened. ... to the state of the hotel. It's called the Mitaree and it looks like an old college dorm or an abandoned hospital. I've definitely become spoiled. There was nothing measurably wrong with the place. It just wasn't very nice. Truly, the only thing that was strange was the fact that the entire bathroom, about 5'x5', was also the entire shower. We get a dinner recommendation the an old man sitting in front of the hotel. ...

... it was really sweet, we spent the evening in the main lodge with lots of people around. There was an ultra marathon taking place which is a 60 miles run plus climbing up to 5000 meters threw the jungle and mountains of Thailand!! Insane people! Me and holly ate, drank beer and played cards as the running came in one by one! We then headed to bed and rose early we had muesli and fresh made ...
