    ... was cheap and delicious from any of the small street side stalls and cafes. Chana Masala was a revelation for me; chickpea curry, bursting with tingling spices and freshened with coriander. Kate's black lentil Dal was the meatiest vegetarian dish I have ever eaten. On a side note, I am convinced that most curries in the UK are made far hotter than anything we have encountered here. Anyone who has ever seen me eat curry will know that my usual reaction is to sweat buckets and hiccup ...
