We had a lie in this morning whilst nursing our hangovers and voices from karaoke the night before. Then we got minibuses to a farm in the Qinling mountains, it took about an hour and a half. The journey was pretty windy but the scenery was so nice - lots of big green mountains with rivers running through etc. We had lunch as soon as we arrived which was all made by the farmhouse owner and her daughter. After lunch we rested for a bit then went for a short walk. ...

I can now add another `first' to my list of things I have done while in China - this time, white water rafting!

The Qinling mountains are part of the range which encircle Xi'an to the south, and a group of 12 headed of from school - 10 foreign teachers and 2 Chinese teachers. We hired a mini-van, squashed all our gear and ourselves in, and headed off for an overnight expedition.

They suprized me with the offer to join them last week and I jumped at the chance to get away before my dreaded demo class on ...

On Friday, we took another wild cab ride to what they called a "canyon." It was really just a small river in a valley in the mountains. It was very beautiful, nonetheless. We had a long walk and saw a waterfall and some really great scenery. Charlotte, Sophia and I had a very good trip and a nice relaxing vacation from ...

... highway goes through the mountains and lots of tunnels. We went through the longest tunnel in China. The first day we were there we went to a cave. We went to the cave in a cab, which was about an hour drive. The mountain roads were very narrow and windy, and the drive was pretty wild. Winding up and down the mountains, honking the horn while going into blind turns and dodging trucks and mopeds was pretty ...
