Well, after a flight from Tokyo to Chicago, then Chicago to Saint Louis we are safely home landing 4 minutes before we took off. Gotta love the International Date Line. Flights were totally uneventful. The generally hateful hell that is O'Hare was even pleasantly blunted by the installation of a bunch of ATM-like machines that helped speed the reentry process.

Good to be home and see Maureen ...

... Heard on the news next morning that there was 15 shootings in St. Louis last night. Hence the sirens blasting all night. Won't be attempting any walks like that again.
Unable to do a river cruise because of flooding.
Next day.
Had a 'Proud Mary' Burger at a little café for lunch. Relaxing swim in the park pool at the park.
Later on we caught a cab to the Oyster Bar down at the 'happening place' of Soulade to take in some live ...

... by the Mississippi River. It looked good at night time with lights reflecting on it but unfortunately didn’t pose well for photographs in the dark.

We returned to Lacledes Landing, and the streets were heaving with people. Probably for a number of reasons – hot weather, it was a Saturday, there was a big baseball game on, and it seemed to be Prom Night (the carriages and major bright tacky dresses would suggest so anyway).
