So im a politician& kindergarten teacher in china?
... passionately haha! made the experience for sure! (mind-you this is the same tiny teacher who on occasion awkwardly tells me he loves me or has other teachers do it- hmm still have broached that one lol and don't intend to)

BUT come 520 we did in fact leave promptly from the office...i was escorted with some fellow teachers (thank god for Marsha's presence as she was the only one at the entire dinner party with any English!) to a fancy BMW that took us straight to a very near by hotel/banquet place. we went into the usual fancy room style, set family-style OF COURSE (I've yet to ever see a single other kind of Chinese dinner done here) ...

2) last week we had yet another schedule change! though this is a national thing apparently where (interestingly co-in-siding with our own daylight savings time) China moves the time forward due to winter coming. however as china has one national time zone and experiences no "time changes" like ours this is a nation-wide schedule change where almost all schools, businesses, federal buildings, etc will ...

... my students brought TO ME halloween candy when i went down to pass it out during their break. they played me a little music video thing and were super happy to see me and give me gifts they made...so ok ok i'll go with the cheeseball here and count it a good day. whatever!

To give some perspective, most of these children do not leave the orphanage more than a couple of times a year, and sometimes not even their specific areas of the orphanage. So, our outing to the park was an extremely joyful and fascinating one to most of them. The pure joy and excitement to be in nature and new surroundings were awe-inspiring for me to witness. Their awe became my awe.
