... did strike some along the way. It took us 45 minutes including getting lost at the airport trying to find the rental car drop off area and ended up doing laps around LAX Terminals!
We finally found the sign we were looking for and got to the rental car place which was about 5km away from LAX Airport! We emptied the car and hopped onto the shuttle bus that would take us back to the airport.

After a superb lunch at the Surf Shack, (we were extremely hungry after having breakfast at 5.00am) Gracie wanted to do a bit of gym work so we headed back to the Santa Monica muscle beach. She showed her skill on the rings and did a few kips on the chin up bars ...
... buy anything or not. they park a bugatti veyron outside and employ top models to 'help' customers buy their clothes. no stars around at 10am so we pushed on to hollywood boulvevard. we stopped off and walked part of the walk of fame and looked at the stars' autographs outside the chinese theatre. final stop was at the top of mulholland drive to take pictures of the hollywood sign and look down on houses of many of the stars. the tour concluded and we were dropped at universal ...
... after chalking his hands up and we walked by a ton of buskers, one playing hotel California.
On the pier we saw a little Route 66 stand. A guy called Ian sold us a really good book I had seen online that gives directions for the route and all the good stuff to see on it. 45 mins later and we were still chatting to Ian.
