... and headed out the backside of the mall to discover a jazz festival! Though the singer we heard was pretty good, the set in itself was a little bland and we lost interest.
Though we had hoped to go the zoo, we missed the last bus out there, so we headed back to the hotel in defeat. After a few hours recharching and napping, we decided to strike out and the beer festival we had heard so much about. We found it ...

About ten billion pigeons and four or five NASTY, ENORMOUS crows. After trying fervently to kick these pigeons, we noticed we had drawn a crowd of giggling school girls. My friend took me to the Moerenuma Park (http://www.sapporo-park.or.jp/moere/en glish.php) where a famous Japanese-American architect/designer, Isamu Noguchi designed.
He's famous for those Akari series lights (you can see these at IKEA often).

I heard this place was just for garbage dumping... and the city of Sapporo decided to have a nice park here.

We had a nice lunch at "Yuuhi ...

The 100 Yen Post

We're in Sapporo now and it's absolutely amazing. However the hostel is charging ten yen per freaking minute to use the internet - which adds up to roughly $10 AUD an hour. So there won't be any further posts until we reach Tokyo again in another three days.

Missing you all,
Tom and Rachael
At the top I hung about, working on my laptop, watching the view, and being amused by a vending machine of soft toy pandas which was within the observatory. Anyway, I said it would be plain writing. I'm focusing on another piece of writing, so I don't want to spend much time on this. I suppose I'll find a little, dry style which will suit travel blogging. Cheers, N.
