... and headed out the backside of the mall to discover a jazz festival! Though the singer we heard was pretty good, the set in itself was a little bland and we lost interest.
Though we had hoped to go the zoo, we missed the last bus out there, so we headed back to the hotel in defeat. After a few hours recharching and napping, we decided to strike out and the beer festival we had heard so much about. We found it ...
... at a deli in the train station and headed the park we had heard was beautiful.
Sitting patiently and eating our doughnuts and such, we noticed we had several guests. About ten billion pigeons and four or five NASTY, ENORMOUS crows. After trying fervently to kick these pigeons, we noticed we had drawn a crowd of giggling school girls. They were none too subtle about staring at us and ...
... mieru (you can see sunset)" restaurant.
Oh, YUMMY!
This park also has this crazy fountain... the water goes up as high as 25 meters.
I could learn a bit about Isamu Noguchi today.
His father was a Japanese guy, and his mother was an American teacher.
Once his father knew his mother was pregnant, he went back to Japan.
Isamu was raised by his mother mostly in Japan, and ...
... of diversity. He gave me his booklet of his works (sculpture). His work seems very strong, but at the same time I felt like I could see something gentle and calm in his work. Most of the Ainu people I met are like that... they are very passionate and dedicated, but at the same time, they are very calm and relaxed. Somehow, Hawaiians are like them. I also visited the town called Nibutani in Hidaka region. This current movement of Ainu culture renaissance really ...
Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan beachmonkie... ski.
Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan clemandpo... the 14th. So, I walked up the (small) mountain! It was quite a funny thing to do, I suppose, but I loved doing so. At the top I hung about, working on my laptop, watching the view, and being amused by a vending machine of soft toy pandas which was within the observatory. Anyway, I said it would be plain writing. I'm focusing on another piece of writing, so I don't want to spend much time on this. I suppose I'll find a little, dry style which will suit travel blogging. Cheers, N.
