Clap Twice Loudly

... rush to see everything or pressure to pick the best restaurant. I can stroll at a leisurely pace through the grounds of the shrine and the streets of town knowing I can come back whenever I want. Kamakura is such a cool town with so many more temples, restaurants, shops, trails and a beach to explore. I can't wait to go back. And if we get the house, it's only an 8 minute train ride away. I get a 5AM walk around the grounds and stroll over to the ocean and drink in a few treats like a panoramic ocean view and some castle and volcano sightings on the horizon. The staff is literally rolling out a red carpet for what we guess will be an afternoon wedding to come. The rose garden hosts ...

... and can only be used for emergency vehicles. This is after all an earthquake prone area. The sign shows a large catfish. In Japanese mythology a giant catfish ("namazu") that lives in the mud underneath the country causes an earthquake when the god guarding him under a stone doesn't pay attention for a brief moment. Hakone-Yumoto is a quaint and busy little village, difficult to find a parking spot. It's a short walk ...
