... as they sheparded my compatriots and I thought a little village to the local school. An impromptu tour of the school while classes were going on lead to the enviable request for a donation. ... place we had imagined, we found that the whole place just rang with a sense of falseness - false people, false promises and over-commercialisation. Even the snake charmer, a would be poster-boy for all things Indian, was supplying travellers...diversification may be necessary in these tough times, but in a town that doesn't serve alcohol due to its religious significance...it seems like yet another contradiction.
