    ... good company! It was wonderful to see the little girl Ikumi, grown into a happy young woman.

    Phil - Well, this was a big day. I had my step counter going and we got to over 13k steps. Not as much walking as yesterday.
    This is the first time we have had friends overseas who can show us around, and it does make a difference. I lost count of the samples we had at the farmers market. No way would we have tasted the things we did.

    ... has gone through a mini renaissance - it is a hugely atmospheric warren of a hundred and fifty drinking dens some full with only eight customers.

    Heading out into the local area we take in the muffled view of Tokyo from The Government Metropolitan Offices on the 45th floor. From here we can just about make out how huge and built up Tokyo really is.

    That evening we head off to Omoide ...

    ... I could say with Korean Air years ago. I'm very picky, though, so don't take this too seriously. It was also my first time on an A380, but I didn't really have the chance to look around it. Maybe another time.

    Plane landed about 10 minutes early, did the usual 4 hours of taxiing back to the gate; from there, we actually got off the plane quite quickly, which was nice, then it was another giant hike to Immigration. I was out of ...

    ... 8211; not the big big guys. We saw a match between a really skinny guy vs a bulky guy, and the skinny guy stayed up for a surprisingly long time! We stayed for a little while, and then had a look around Asukusa which is the older part of Tokyo. We saw older buildings, a street market, a huge shrine that was built by three fisherman for the Goddess of Mercy. There was also a smaller shrine built for the three fisherman next to it. ...
