We moved further north to Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai marks the beginning of the Golden Triange. The heart of opium territory between Burma, Thailand and Laos. We are assured that all opium trade has been stamped out on the Thai side of the triangle. The main reason for venturing this far north is to see Wat Rong Kun, or “the White Temple”.

We jump a local bus and head out to the temple. ...

Fuel was ...

Today, we were able to do the community assessment for which we prepared. We walked around the village and mapped it out. As we walked, we heard a story from an Aj. about her father passing away. She said that the Thais believe that the spirit of the person will return home seven days after they die. Also, she said that when you hear dogs fighting, it means that a ghost is near.

She said that she waited seven nights and her father never came. She never saw him. ...
