    ... ask for his autograph- had to be done!! Paul got it too. The unfortunate thing is that I'd written on mine with my name and date of visiting; Paul didn't so we've said we'll share them- I'll write both of our names on mine then we'll have a blank one with his autograph.

    You could see other people really wanted to meet him and ask him too but they didn't have the nerve; Paul said he wouldn't have done either- it pays to be bold!!

We drove through a check point searching for illegal immigrants without any problem; though this made me a bit nervous because I had to leave my passport back in Chiang Rai where we rented the bike. Kristen and I were searching all road signs for an indication of highway 1089 towards Doi Mae Salong without any success. In fact most of the roadsigns that existed were in Thai script ...

    We made tea pillows which is so cool that we got to do that
    with the villagers. They supplied everything and also helped us. I thought I
    had enough leaves in my real cotton bag and little did I know a lot more could
    be stuffed inside, next step was to sew it and put into a pretty pillow case

    ... Similar to the other markets you can buy a variety of items like cloth and souvenirs. You can also find a food market there for dinner. The main food offered there is Hotpot. You will get a pot filled with soup brought to your table, plus a variety of vegetables and meat. You then just add the the ingredients into the soup, and cook it yourself. It is a nice way to eat when travelling in a group. You also can buy the usual Thai food, or getting fresh seafood grilled. Not that hungry, ...
