... many of the snowbirds have arrived yet. Saw a small herd of wild burros on the way outside of Q'zite. They were the first wildlife we'd come upon in many- a-mile. Our site here at the Park is quite nice with lots of room to spread out and enjoy the weather here this winter.
Yuma, Arizona, United States rgvtxchrsSaturday 20 June 2009

A short driving day, we started out with lunch after laundry. Our second Road Food pick was Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Café, a modest diner with whitewashed concrete walls adorned throughout with signatures and well-wishers’ notes written in black Sharpie. The food is thoroughly Southern country cookin’ or soul food; take your pick. Steph had the southern fried chicken, red beans, mixed greens and lemonade. Jim ...

Yuma, Arizona, United States jackies-world... in Quartzsite, well they have the exact same thing in Yuma only the area is paved and there are fans and the prices are cheaper. Patsy and I made a couple trips there and found all sorts of interesting things. Most enjoyable way to while away 2 or 3 hours. In my past entries I have often talked about food. Well Yuma has its share of eating establishments some better than others. One place of note is the "Brown Bag Burger Diner" They have the best hamburgers in ...
Yuma, Arizona, United States shipling... green, not even a cactus. There are no ditches along the highway either but signs clearly indicate that the shoulders are soft, very soft - with powdery sand that never packs. Whenever someone pulls over, they leave a 6" rut so a 46,000lb motorhome would probably sink to the axle. When the Salton Sea ends, the Imperial Sand Dunes start. It's a 40 mile long stretch where ATV's rule - thousands of them! Several communities comprised of 20-30 toy hauler RV's are ...
Yuma, Arizona, United States jimcabay... see if it's the switch, the fan motor, or the thermostat. If it's the switch, I will use my jimmy rigging abilities to attach a new switch to the handle bars for manual on and off. If we can't fix it then Paul will be heading to Phoenix and then home and I will be crossing over into Mexico by myself. LOL, I will never forget this trip, it's such a pain in the ass! At least we are both getting a good ...
Yuma, Arizona, United States macrosse1Day 16 - 23nd May 2008. Today it was time to hitch up and roll the Castle out towards Arizona. We called ahead to a park to ensure we would have a place to be, considering it is the Memorial weekend. Filled up with gas and away we go. Rick took the wrong turn and ended up heading towards Mexico. With Mandy, Karon & Earnie correcting him he decided that ok we won't go via Mexico we turned off at the next exit and found our way to the interstate 8 ...
Yuma, Arizona, United States popusa2008... Seeing as we are the good Husky girls we are we never say no to beer. We got the beer sampler and pizza and enjoyed our lunch/dinner. 5 pm -11 pm We had debated staying the night in Sedona (even contemplated a free night at a time share that we were offered). But we decided to head out south to get some driving time out of the way. We were worried about staying in Phoenix because we thought it would be expensive (keep this reference in mind for ...
