Day One

The hotel here is great! Nicest one I've seen in a while! It even has a little suite area - and we've got three TV's. Too bad we don't watch TV! I'm not feeling very deep but I wanted to make sure that I keep this up. I'm very excited about tomorrow - Don is actually feeling nervous enough to feel sick. We are so privileged to be able to make this pilgrimage - how many others have yearned for this and never done it? Well, going to go so I can make my Israel notebook - andput all the pages in ...

Here we go...

Wow. Here we are sitting at gate D14. This is a really mixed flight. So much different from little old Pendleton. I, a 23 year old white male, am a minority. Our flight has been delayed by about 2 hours. So instead of leaving at 1:05pm we are now leaving at 3:00pm...yeah kinda sucks. This means that when we get to Frankfurt, we have to hurry to our gate. Emily and I have been sitting in these same seats for about an hour and a half now, only getting up to get water, soy chips, and fritos, and...

Historical Traveler Reviews of Shilo Inn Portland Airport

Mediocre

from Medford
Stayed at this hotel with my family based on the Trip Advisor ratings. Wondered if we were at a different hotel. On the plus side, nice large room, good free internet and 24 hour pool were great. On the negative side, refirgerator in our room was broken, resulting in loss of "road food" (stayed that way even after an engineer visit), sheets on beds were too small, resulting in sheets coming off during sleep, no local newspaper boxes, and breakfast was mediocre and not very healthy. Room setup is a bit odd, with the "living room" portion located in the rear. As you come in there is a vanity, then the sleeping area, then the living room. For a business traveler, this would mean walking through your bath and sleeping area to take a client/guest to the meeting area. Not a bad hotel, but mediocre at best and not a place we would voluntarily stay again.

Very comfortable

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I take trips to Portland Oregon every couple of months and everytime we stay at the Shilo Inn Portland Airport. Every room has a very comfortable bathroom with a TV, a TV in front of the bed and seperate dinning area with microwave, sink, table and chairs and couch and another TV. The restaurant serves very good food and will deliver to your room. The hotel is so convenient to all the great shopping in Portland, but also is far enough away to allow an escape from the hustle and traffic of the city. The employees are all very friendly and accomodating. This hotel caters to business travelers, but it works out great for us as Portland weekenders who go to shop and enjoy all that Portland has to offer.

Decent

Better than I expected. Good restaurant, friendly staff, nice set up. I would reccomend this hotel.

What a plesant surprise!

from poopsoup
This was such a plesant surprise, especially for an airport hotel. The rooms were huge and so clean! The staff was always friendly. ( A rare thing in the hotel industry, at least from my experience.) The breakfast was amazing, especially the lattes. The only complaint I had was there was no local paper. But that pales in coparison to the wonderful stay I had at the Shiloh!

Superior customer service

from A TripAdvisor Member
I had one ther best experiences staying at Shilo Inns, airport way, Portland Oregon. From the moment I walked through the front door, everyone was so friendly and kind. The front counter person was so knowledgeable and friendly. I was checked in, so quickly and helped to my suite in no time. I was very impressed about my room, it was very spacious and clean. I really enjoyed the atmostphere of the restaurant during my dinner. My waiter was so professional and very attentive during the experience. The food was great, such a variety of choices. I am such a critic of hotels because I am on the road so much that I had to say Keep Up The Good Work and I'll be back for sure. Its been a long time since I have been to a hotel that had so many professional and courtious people.

The Best!

What a pleasant surprise! Over and over again throughout my stay I was amazed at how friendly and accommodating the staff were - the rooms were nice and I really enjoyed the coffe bar in the morniing - but the staff is the best!

Great service!

from DeepFriedTwinkies
Staff was wonderful! Free espresso in the morning, free shuttle to the airport early in the morning, and three tvs in the room (even one in the bathroom odd as that may sound). Of all the airport hotel options, this is the best.

Quick and easy

from littlegreentruck
Came here for company meeting, the food, service and room was great. My company is going to re-book for next year. The same day dry cleaning was a life saver for me!

Lots of bang for the Dollar!

from jackrob
My wife and I came with our kids before flying out of PDX. We loved the 24hr pool, free expresso in the morning and had room service delivered to our room. Our kids thought we were already on vacation they had so much fun! The staff alone, was worth the stay, we will be back!

Not too good

from A TripAdvisor Member
average. dirty sheets and chairs in lobby. good food and breakdfast. not worth the 100 + $ they charge per night though.
