We saw a strange area just after the Idaho border in a valley: vast, graded, with large construction vehicles moving around... it was hard to see, and we were clueless. Best guess was some kind of mine. And indeed, it was the Lucky Friday Mine expansion area.

300 miles, from Redmond to Post Falls Idaho. Very hazy day today driving through Eastern Washington, we could see multiple fires to the east.

We're heading east fairly quick, the plan is to make Yellowstone by tomorrow. So far so good!

... it's worked so far. After our ride, we boarded the Barchy Canyon Cruiser for the Spokane Valley. It took us through a very smoky Montana, with a brief stop at Walmart is Missoula for some supplies, and of course, a parking lot bike ride for Jaxson. Blainer has been battling teeth the whole trip and that showed up today with a bad diaper rash. Poor little guy, but he's been an absolute trooper. He also knows, "How big is Blaine?".
