The water has strong anti-bacterial powers with superior therapeutic and spiritual qualities.     ... climbing and winding. We pass ski areas that were built for the 1998 Olympics held in Nagano. Lots of ski lifts everywhere and as the road takes us higher and higher there is more snow alongside the roads, we see beautiful vistas with snowcapped mountain tops.     ... hard to explore the temple area, so after watching some of the ceremonies we leave and will come back tomorrow.
    The rain holds out for the procession, but it starts to drizzle as we leave the temple. Cant complain as we have been really lucky with the weather.
