I was reunited with Lisay in Pamukkale. That has to be one of the most boring towns on the planet, yet it is worth a visit to see the weird travertine pools formed by calcium deposits. Basically an entire hill looks like a frozen waterfall. From a distance, you look at this hill and it looks like snow, but when you get closer you can see that it is actually white rock (well, calcium) and there are little pools of water you can swim or wade in. Weird but cool. From there, we headed to Antalya....
Goreme (Cappadoccia), Turkey carleenreneeWhat an exquisite place of beauty. I did a bit of research and learned that this ciy is Turkey's principal holiday resort in the Mediterranean region (ancient Pamphylia). In the picturesque old quarter, Kaleici, narrow winding streets and old wooden houses abut the ancient city walls. However, after 18 or so days of non-stop viewing of ruins, old cities, holy sites and such, I have decided to forego any furt...

After we rested, we went for a walk behind the hotel. It's off-season in February, so the resort was pretty empty and the pools weren't filled yet. But the grounds were still beautiful and so was the Mediterranean. This is when I first noticed the cats - everywhere you turned there was another cat. I bet there's not many rodents pest...

Antalya, Antalya, Turkey aytgroup... next to us could not dampen our spirits as we watched paragliders descend from the mountains over the blue lagoon. In fact we were so taken with the paragliding that we decided to try it ourselves. The following morning we ran roughshod over Lauren's fear of death by parachute and launched ourselves off a cliff from 2000 meters (thats about 6500 feet i think). The views were sweet, unblemished by nasty naked fatties. Sadly Lauren and ...

Having had the ...
