Jet lag caught up with me last night, so I hit the sack and was asleep in a matter of moments, and slept right through until my alarm at 5.45am.
But just to finish about the trip – arriving at LA was much easier this trip, a new terminal and reasonably efficient for the number of planes that all arrived at the same time. < …
Oh my goodness this has been the "Longest Day" It started on Tuesday morning. Got up, finished organising myself, met with Narms for coffee and then stayed awake until I caught the shuttle at 1am. It was a good trip through to Auckland Airport on the shuttle bus, but the long awaited for sleep didn't happen as the other passengers and the driver …
We had the 2nd day of the train journey through the Rockies today. It was much better for viewing and we saw a lot more of the wildlife. Lots of eagles, ospreys (and their nests) and one lone coyote (spotted by me).
Lots of rivers and lots of trees - but all evergreens. Was surprised at how few deciduous trees there were - only in the …

This hotel was in a central location. It's right downtown, close to a grocery store (key when travelling with a toddler), coffee, shopping, and there was accesible transportation in the area. The hotel room was clean and spacious, which is extremely important when travelling with a toddler. The concierge was friendly and very helpful.

Historical Traveler Reviews Sheraton Vancouver - Wall Centre
Really nice place!
The hotel is pretty new looking. Excellent service. Clear and modern rooms. Awesome beds. No complaints here. The hotel is in a good location. You can't go wrong with this place. One of the better Sheratons!
Expensive but a 'must' for at least a night
The Wall Centre is actually two narrow towers, not dissimilar to the former twin towers in New York. The entrance is spectacular with a courtyard and a multitude of bell-hops darting around everywhere.Rooms are very modern and have every amenity. One of the windows opens but not so much as to be dangerous for small children. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was extremely well ventilated, providing a shaving mirror and an abundance of toiletries. As one of the more expensive hotels in Vancouver, the Wall Centre is definitely worth staying at for a night or two.
We like the Sheraton Wall Centre.
We stayed at the Sheraton in May 2003. The room was very nice, with two double beds, the staff were very pleasent and helpful. We liked it so much that we returned after a weeks touring around B.C, and we have booked to stay again in May 2004. We did not eat in any of the restaurants because there are so many other places to eat in the local area. However the pool and lounges were to a high standard and relaxing. Our only criticisms are that the first room fridge was not very cold, the response was that it was a cooler and that while we only parked the hire car for one night, we were charged for three, this was deducted from our bill.
A great hotel
I have stayed at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre on two occasions and have enjoyed it immensely - I'll be staying there again in January.
The rooms can be a little small but they are well appointed and the bed is absolutely devine. The location is also good - close to Robson Street. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vancouver.
Stayed here for a conference, for which I booked my reservations 1 month in advance. Was quoted a nightly rate, but when I checked out, they charged me 3 times that amount. I tried to get the discrepancy resolved and was told, point blank, that they would not honour the quote that was given me. I refused to sign the bill, but they charged my credit card number anyway. (So watch out if you give them a credit card number - they can put whatever charges they want on there and you can't do a thing about it) What makes it worse is that the General Manager refused to call me back to talk about this and had one of his underlings do his dirty work for him. This underling called me a liar and refused to discuss the matter any further and will not return my phone calls. I reported this to AMEX and they gave me a copy of the letter the Sheraton people sent. It was full of lies and attacks my character. The way I see it, these people are theives and have stolen money from my credit card because they can. Beware people!!! You will get home after your trip, pick up your credit card bill, and find that you have been robbed.
Was put in the South Tower which felt very much like "the annex across the street". Had to traipse across to the North Tower to eat, get a drink or to find a lounge to sit in.
We stayed 2 nights at the Wall Centre from 20 Jun - 22 Jun. We were offered a corner room in the North Tower, which turned out to be very nice, even though I booked a South Tower room (there was no option for "North Tower" on Sheraton's website).
We stayed at the Wall Centre in March 2003. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. We had booked a family suite that consisted of a separate room with a king size bed and two double beds in the main room, it was very large, clean, gave us some privacy from the kids and had beautiful views of the mountains. The only major drawback for this hotel and other higher class hotels in Vancouver is the lack of a guest laundry room, which I am sure most parents would agree is important when travelling with a famiy.
Rave Review for the Sheraton Vancouver
I have stayed at almost every luxury hotel in Vancouver and never considered staying at the Sheraton Vancouver until I overheard a client raving about this hotel. On a whim, I decided to try out this hotel. WOW ... guestroom with amazing views, tasteful decor, and the best feature of all was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Alot of thought has gone into the layout of the room, generous work desk, lots of electrical outlets, high speed ethernet access, and a laptop safe. Service was friendly and courteous. Full service heallth club that rivaled most high end gyms. Full service luxury spa. I am definitely coming back and will recomend this hotel!
Stayed at the Wall Center because my husband was attending an event in the hotel and thought it would be convenient. The hotel looked nice enough on the surface but the service was terrible. We wanted to check in 1/2 hour early and they were very rude about that request. The following day our toilet overflowed leaving us without a bathroom to use and a hotel room that was completely flooded. No one showed up from maintenance after 45 minutes so we decided to check out. At the check out desk I conveyed my disappointment with the bathroom situation (I hadn't even had time for a shower!) and was told all I could get was free parking ($20.00). I was very disappointed with this hotel's front desk service. There are so many beautiful hotel's in Vancouver why go to one with poor service. Next time it's the Hotel Vancouver for me!
