    ... lovely, but considering the extra 30 minute daily commute for Chris we didn't get the over whelming desire to live there that we thought we would. The town itself was very nice but it had a large stretch of road in the centre which made the need for two cars a must, so, with very few houses available to rent it was beginning to look like this might not be the place for us after all.     ... Tension is high in the car as the two travellers try and work together to get out of the city. GPS starts working once they have navigated their way out of the city. It informs the pair that they will be in Monterey by 3.30. With traffic banking up Cirsty and Ryan decide to stop for some lunch at Sam Chowder house (Half Moon Bay). Cirsty almost asked what is in Clam Chowder but decided on the seafood basket instead.

    ... on Trevor and Sheila’s patio and enjoyed the balmy weather. It’s covered by a peaked roof and is surrounded by beautiful plantings. The architecture and decorations remind me of Hawaii which is a favorite place for them. Then they took us to their favorite Italian restaurant for dinner.

    Trevor gave me a Garmin GPS which he hasn’t used in a couple years. ...

    ... escape as I'm dreading the food costs over there. Thankfully, we have a few friends who are have given us some wallet-friendly places to eat. We'll see if we splurge on any fun activities or experiences. Stay tuned for our Hawaii adventures, and if anyone out there has any recs on things to do, and must-see/eat places--your advice is truly welcome.
