NICE HOTEL

from A TripAdvisor User on 2004-03-10
The hotel was really nice for the low price that we paid. The front desk clerks were very friendly, and awesome with the kids, they even gave us popcorn while we were checking in. The room was decorated really nice with a Marilyn Monroe theme and a lovely view of Orlando.

Brilliant hotel, fun for all the family!!!!!!!

from A TripAdvisor User on 2004-02-08
Absolutly brilliant hotel, recommended to anybody. It has the best location as it is ajacent to Wet`n`Wild, walking distance to shops and restaurantes and close to uniiversal studios and disney. As for the hotel itself, the staff were extremly friendly, every where was perfectly cleaned, the pool was fabulous and even though it was busy, it seemed very peaceful and reaxing. The kids loved it there, same with the adults, it was the perfect hotel in the perfect location! When I visit Orlando again, I will definetly stay there again.

Great location

from A TripAdvisor User on 2004-01-25
Location is perfect if you are looking to avoid the congested international drive area. Shuttles were convienient, crowded at times.

Hotel room smelled a bit musty at first, but was very clean overall.

Pool was warm and clean, fun atmosphere overall. We had 5 day passes to UO and IOA, we would have spent alot more time stuck in traffic had we stayed in a hotel further south on International Dr. EZ access to park entrances.

Great Hotel

from A TripAdvisor User on 2004-01-19
My husband and I just returned from Orlando where we stayed 5 nights at this hotel. I had read some negative reviews on this hotel so I was a little hesitant to book a room there. But I'm sure glad I did!! We had a suite on the 21st floor. It is worth the extra money to have the great view and the bigger room! The staff, housekeeping, the bellman, the front desk staff, everyone was super helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and can't wait to return!

Pleasantly Surprised

I was concerned about this hotel after reading some reviews, but got a super rate through Priceline. I'm very picky and can honestly say that I was very happy with this hotel. The staff, from the check in desk, to bartender, and others wandering the halls were extrememly friendly. The lobby is fun, elevators fast, and room very comfortable and clean. I was given an upgrade to an upper floor and the view of Universal was amazing! This hotel is advertising an upgrade of their bedding to somthing like Westin's Heavenly Bed which will make it all the better.

Only draw back was no hot tub/jacuzzi on property. Great centralized location...easy drive to Universal and Disney....free hotel transportation is offered, but times are not very convenient.

Fabulous Stay....SHERATON STUDIO CITY!!!!

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-11-19
Fabulous Hotel!......We have stayed at many hotels in Orlando/Disney area and tried this hotel for the 1st time. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff was OUTSTANDING!!!!!.....They have free transportation to Disney and Universal Studios.....Alot of shopping and action in the area, all in walking distance...I highly recommend the Sheraton Studio City...I will share with all my family and friends how wonderful this hotel is...P.S. They give fresh hot popcorn and check in for free!!!!!!!!yummy!!!..Thank you!

The worst customer service ever

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-10-28
I was lost and the front desk gave four different versions of directions. They had a problem with the correct exit, for example I was told 78A but it was 75A. The last time I called the person finally figured he would grab the map to help me out.I was very annoyed and this set me back for 1 1/2 hours looking for the hotel. Then to top it off, I reserved a room with a king bed or a room with two queens, but I got one queen sized bed. Then, I was told the shuttle would run all night to drop people off at Halloween Horror nights but really the last one left at ten, and we missed it because of bad direstions. Also, only one room key worked.I will never stay here again and would not recomend it to anyone EVER!

Family had fun... but not everything went smoothly

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-09-28
My family and I traveled to Orlando and stayed here at the last minute since another hotel had lost our reservations. I called and the person at the desk was very helpful and got us a room at a pretty good price.

The room was plenty big enough, had a great view, and we enjoyed the pool. There were two problems with the stay. One was the room key which did not work on seven occasions during our five day stay. We couldn't use the elevator nor get into our room. We travel a lot and had never had this problem anywhere else. The other issue was when my daughter fell and I asked for a band aid. There was nothing in the hotel. Not only could they not give me one, we could not buy one either. We had to get in the car and drive to the 7-11 to get one. I expected a Sheraton to at least have a simple request (the only thing we asked for during the trip) like a band aid available. If you don't mind getting new keys all the time and promise to not fall it is a nice place to stay, but I believe I will stay somewhere else on the next family trip to Florida.

NOT for business travelers

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-07-22
Not for the business traveler. Tons of teenagers with cases of beer and plenty of noise. Seemed great if that is your scene though.

Nice hotel

from A TripAdvisor User on 2002-06-29
We loved the SSC. The rooms were great, There are three elevators, so practically no waiting. Transportation to the attractions. Just a few minutes drive to Universal. I highly recommend it.
