    OMG Stay Here

After staying in "European" hotels for two weeks, I felt as if I died and went to heaven when I got to the Sheraton. I'm staying here six nights for a conference, and they upgraded me to the club level (okay I had to pay about $61 a nite for the upgrade, but it gives me breakfast and evening appetizers, and free good wine at night). But they did upgrade me to a suite with a gorgeous view, for free. They have WASHCLOTHS (why don't European hotels have washcloths? Don't Europeans use washcloths? Can someone please explain this to me? The concierge has been great, really helping me out. The service is five star. I have NO COMPLAINTS. Thank you Sheraton! What a nice change from the other (expensive and nice hotels) that I chose on my travels!

    Excellent City Centre hotel

I stayed here with a colleague for a business trip last week. I couldn't fault the hotel. We got a free upgrade to a club room which provided access to the club lounge. That meant free Internet and a nightly finger food buffet. There was also some free wine, beer and spirits for a couple of hours each night.
The hotel itself is well positioned for a short walk into the city centre.

This is a terrific place to stay, close to the places visitors would want to see. There are lots of other hotels close by, but we're pleased to be right here. It's worked well for us both days we stayed in Stockholm.

After traveling to Stockholm two times this fall for business and spending three weeks at the Sheraton, I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel! The staff, the rooms, the bedding, the Executive Lounge are all fabulous! Anything we needed, we were taken care of with a smile and a very willing hand!

Great location but lack in amenities

Room-wise, size was fairly spacious and good interiors. I also liked the availability of universal adaptor conveniently placed in the main table. Worthy of note though was the absence of swimming pool and some small details like there was no toothbrush, shaving kit, comb, cotton tips and the like. But service was outstanding, there was free internet-enable computers in the lobby, crew were helpful and yes, location is just great as it was situated just walking distance to the T Centralen subway station, to the famous Old Town Gamla Stan, and even to the shopping district around Sergels Torg.

Smallish rooms with really soft beds

    from

Within walking distance of the Central station, this hotel is conveniently located to the Arlanda Express stop. The Tower rooms are relatively small and most balconies in the room look on to non-existent views. (I was in rooms with balcony facing the building interior twice.) The beds are incredibly soft so if you like a firm mattress to get a good night's sleep, stay away from this hotel. The lounge access justifies the price difference to stay in a Tower room as breakfast is included (though choice is very limited) and there's drinks available until the lounge closes at 10pm. Sheraton has just installed broadband internet access in rooms (both wired and wireless). The service at the restaurant is also very slow.

    Midsummernight

    from

We stayed in June 2004. This is an excellent hotel cause everything was great. We left Germany to our vacation in Finland and we spend a night in Stockholm. Mostly all other hotels ranged between 130 and 170 Euros per night. So I decided to use my Starpoints for the 50% off rate, which was 160 Euros. And it was worth every cent. Before we hit the ferry I received a mail from the reservations and they asked if I would like to upgrade for just 30 Euros for breakfast for two. Beside that they would upgrade us also to the Tower level with free snacks and drinks all day long. And in the evening there was free coctail hour. Upon arriving (we where very early) Someone parked our car for us and they took care on our luggage so we where free to do what we want. And had a nice coffee across the street at the lake. Than after an hour we got an early check in at 12:30 h and as a Gold Level Preffered Guest We also got an late check out. My Friend from Finland was on his way to Stockholm to pic us up in the hotel so we could share an extra day together. And with no problems they gave my Buddy and his 2 kids an access card to the Tower level, which was great. We had dinner in the Hotel which was with drinks 50 Euros for the two of us. You could have cheaper elsewhere, but for a 5 Star Sheraton I think it was great. They offered us the free breakfast in the Lounge but it was crowded so we went down and found the restaurant also crowded but with more room for us to stay and the breakfast buffet was really 5 Star. Beside that, everybody in the hotel was so very nice and kind to us as we have found it in other Sheraton Hotels, absolutly wonderful. The room was also wonderful with our private balcony and lake view. the sweet sleeper beds are the best what ever can happen to you. The room was very big and the size of the bathroom nearly the same. Everything was 100% ok. A great thing was the minibar. If you open it you had a lot of thing to choose and everything was behind a little door. As soon as you open one it was count at the front desk so you never have problems to count together what you'd have had. (if you stay longer) The German restaurant must be very good, cause it was absolutly no chance to get a place in there, so many people wanted it. But the Lady was great she asked us to sit in the Hotel and served the dinner there. So for us..... 6 Stars

    Excellent Hotel

    from

Having worked on a contract based in Sweden for the last 18 months I have stayed at this hotel in excess of 100 nights. The rooms are always excellent, clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. The bar food and Die Ecke (translates as The Corner) German restaurant are great. The staff are very friendly and service is excellent.

There is free broadband wireless connectivity in the lobby nad mezzanine that has come in very handy in the past.

I have stayed at many hotels in Stockholm, the Sheraton is defina\tly my favourite, by a country mile.

    Why bother with walls?

    from

Good location, near the central station, and a reasonable amount of glossiness. Excellent and authentic Bavarian bierstube within the hotel, too. But the room walls are paper thin - in fact, they might be paper. If your neighbours are in, you'll hear them!

    Excellent!

    from

My boyfriend and I spent 2 weeks to tour Scandinavia and Stockholm was our last stop. The hotel was just across the central train station, which was very convenient for us when arriving in Stockholm. We just basically crossed the street and the hotel was just right there. The outside of the hotel was not very exciting, but the inside of the hotel was a different story. It had a large beautiful lobby and the lobby bar, was just so nice with the fireplace in the center. The room was large and spacious. We've visited Europe 5 times in the last 4 years, visiting 11 cities, and this was probably the best we've stayed in Europe. It had the best breakfast buffet and had a great selection of food, large rooms, a great size bathroom, nice shower, and the maid staff always cleaned our room and always refilled our bathroom amenities as well. I guess the Sheraton brand name has something to do with it. The location of the hotel was also very central, close to old town, and we practically walked everywhere(or occasionally took the ferry). The bellhop was soo very helpful in telling us where to go to and gave us advice on places to see. Stockholm is an incredible city and I would love to stay in the Sheraton Stockholm again!

    Nice room!

    from

Stayed here in August 2003 for 3 nights. Had booked a standard room but on check in we were offered an upgrade to an executive room for just 200 SKR (about 9 GBP) It was well worth it. Room had a huge king bed and lovely brand new parquet flooring. What made the room really nice is that all the decor really matched. Was all in lovely deep green and dark blue tones. How many hotels have I been in where the decor is a mismatch of all the colours of the rainbow! Sounds silly but actually makes a big difference to aesthetic appeal of a room. Room faced an inner courtyard though some rooms have lake view, I have heard. However, ours was nice and peaceful. Bathroom small but very nice with lots of toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, a huge choice of eggs, cheeses, meats, breads, fruits, cereals etc etc, well this is Sweden, home of the smorgasbord! And on Sundays there is a late brunch after the breakfast till 2pm, with smoked salmon, seafood etc. Was fantastic!

I'll agree the exterior of the hotel didn't tell you what promise there was inside but it's very close to the central station/metro so perfect for getting around. Though if you want a picturesque setting, you might want to stay on one of the hotels on the waterfront. However, I will be returning to this hotel. A classy establishment.

Good value for money, OK location

    from

Stayed at the Sheraton Stockholm in May 2003. Got a great deal on the Sheraton website -- a few dollars better than hotels.com, etc. so I booked there to ensure the reservation. The hotel was not full on Saturday when we checked in (apparently Swedes do not stay in hotels during the weekend), and we were upgraded to a room on the executive floor. The room was OK -- the hotel was built in the 1970s and it showed. Do not expect glistening parquet floors per the website -- ours were fairly scuffed. The bathrooms were a bit cramped but otherwise fine. Try to get a room with a view overlooking the water. Watch the minibar -- the items are secured by a sliding door, and if you move it slightly you are charged, even if you don't take anything. The hotel is located about 350 m from the central train station. You can certainly walk to the hotel with bags from the station, and the airport train and buses stop nearby. The hotel is also about a 7 minute walk from Gamla Stan, the old city of Stockholm. The only knock on the hotel's location is that the block it is on is not very picturesque -- you will be walking to the prettier sections of the City. But, as a place to put your head, for the price we paid (roughly $130/night w/o breakfast but w/a free paper), it can't be beat. I would rate this about a 6 out of 10 for business hotels -- not the best, but not the worst either. I would have stayed elsewhere on the expense account, but I got a great rate.Enjoy.

Good location, typical Sheraton with a Swedish twist.

    from

Stayed here in October 2002, having got an excellent internet rate.

Knew what to expect - every Sheraton I've been in is a class hotel.

They lack the personal touch of smaller, independent hotels, but the rooms are luxurious. This one has a Swedish twist - wooden flooring.

The room was massive, even by US standards, let alone Europe. Nice breakfast. Very good location in the centre of Stockholm, and easy walking distance to the station. I was in Stockholm on business, but would consider going back for a short break. It is one of the prettiest cities in the world. I would stay in this hotel again provided I managed to get a "cheap" rate.

    Bang in the Center

    from

This hotel is in a superb position: a few moments walk from the central station (with its fast links to to airport), next to the central shopping area, next to the bridge into the old town and with views over the Town hall and its miriad of boat trips.

Public areas were calm, clean, classy and smelled of leather.

Our room was smaller than I'd expect, but clean and comfortable. Quiet too. They have 2 grades of room - ours was supposed to be an "executive" but I had my doubts.

Breakfasts were superb. A massive choice from a table groaning with fruits, cheeses, ham, bacon, pancakes, eggs, cereals and 3 types of herring (this is Sweden after all).

Staff were fine: polite and efficient.

If you can get a decent discount, then I'm happy to recomend it.

    Very expensive!!

    from

I stayed at this Stockholm hotel for one night at the end of January (2003). It was the most expensive of the hotels I stayed at on this latest trip to Europe (about $225 U.S. for the night).Big, older building, right next to Stockholm's central train station, in the center of downtown Stockholm. VERY expensive, staff was good, not great. My room was medium sized--wooden, parquet type floor in bedroom--fixtures in bedroom and bathroom worn, as many years old. The room service food was very good. Didn't try restaurants. Most of the staff members I encountered tried their best to do a good job. My thanks and deepest appreciation to Johan ("John") on their front desk staff for his assistance and friendliness and professionalism! I would only stay there again the next time in Stockholm if I couldn't find an overall better hotel--way too expensive for what one receives!!!
