... We had a good look at the European paintings... There are so many amazing paintings... Loved the ones by Vermeer. We then went to the Egyptian exhibit which is fantastic too. There is a whole temple that has been relocated there. The exhibit was huge. We then had a quick look at some of the amazing statues.... We are fast running out of time... So many galleries, so little ...

... warmed up slightly. We did get to wave to Santa at the very end of the parade on our way to the subway. We came back to the apartment to finish thawing out. We had a booking at a restaurant called Kitchenette for 1.30. They had a Thanksgiving brunch offer which was very nice. Everything was closed so we spent the afternoon ...

We got to NYC last night and easily caught a taxi to our apartment. Matthew, the owner of the apartment, met us and gave us the tour. It is the bottom floor of a brownstone 4 story house in Harlem at 137th street. We unpacked and went to bed... Which was a bit freaky it was a memory foam mattress which was quite different to a normal mattress... ...

... t see public toilets anywhere and eating places are really strict about not letting you use their toilets unless you dine there. So we seem to constantly be looking out for a toilet, especially for John-Henry who has the worst bladder ever. We've had some pretty desperate moments. One where I virtually begged a guy in a bar to let JH use their horrible smelly toilet.

And New York is STILL one of my favourite cities in the world - it's a total buzz and I love it!
