I had a bit of a time getting back into China.
The day before I left Bishkek I checked in with the China Southern Airlines office to double check that everything was OK with my ticket and that I would be able to transfer through Urumqi and qualify for the 72 hour transit visa available for short term visitors to Shanghai. I got the assurance that I was after.
The only problem was the advice was completely wrong. So when I arrived in Urumqi to change ...
... again remind them how important it is to obey their sponsors, for their own SAFETY. Shanghai is not South Tulsa. Unsupervised "walkabouts" to Starbucks are not permitted, nor is leaving hotel rooms,romping in the hallways, or not being with their buddies as they head down to breakfast.
Tomorrow we see several museums, the "French Quarter," and take a river cruise. We will be discouraging swimming.

... but now I'm giggling away.)
We talked to a lot of people that night. I'd bet some of them were even decent human beings. However, I wouldn't know because the whole night, I was completely mesmerized by the shark tank.
After what I now deem was a successful weekend, I'm refreshed and ready to head back to work on Monday!

Additionally there are other great statues and carved deities around the temple for you to pray to and even a little gift shop so you can pray at home.
