    Time to go home

It's been a wonderful trip ! I love traveling for the experience and broadening of horizons. I must say 'horizon' has been redefined on this one. But it's definitely time to head home. 4:30 am is a challenging departure time.

On final approach to Virginia, German tourists took photos
of the Potomac River from the airplane window. I know that place !

Sooo good to find my family waiting at Dulles :))) !! Great trip, but home is the best destination !

... in the dome. It was under restoration but you could still see the majority of them. They were beautiful. Someday, I just know my Mom's art work will be admired somewhere like that. After the capitol we drove to Ford's theater.

One of the key events in Mr. Dehning's life that set him off on the path of being a history teacher was when he visited Ford's theater as a child back in 1812. Just kidding... about the 1812 bit... ;) ...

Another early day for us, up at 4am as we are off to Washington for the day and its a 3.5 hour train ride from Penn station to get there. Our train leaves at 5:30am and have to be there 30 minutes before so caught a cab downtown (hahaha starting to talk like a NYC local).

Heaps of people at the station including a lot of homeless, I suppose you don't need a ticket to get down into the station, its warm and safe as there are quite a lot of people ...
