Algeria seems untouched by the mass tourism which has overrun parts of Morocco, Tunisia and other countries around the Med. My main question remains as to whether the country is safe for Americans. I don't allow terrorism to deter me from my travels but any insight is appreciated.
Oran, Algeria mykey81... Which is kind of dissapointing in a way because the island has lost its own identity. Ibiza, Spain kewlabah... I grinned and agreed, "I suppose you can look at it that way." After lunch was over, I was pretty much spent and my servers amazed at what they just witnessed, now understand why we need to limit our table size. Mediterreanean Sea, Spain and Canary Islands whereshegoes... of the population, who just came out in 2005 of extremely active and bloody terrorism, is still to be healed. I expect that tourism will be the first asset of this country in helping to bring developement to the populations. In any case, Algerians are always willing to discuss all matters and to keep themseves informed of the latest news... this said, I have to admit that it's not uncommon to come accross very hard-headed people!
