Sheraton Newark Airport Hotel

We stayed here for three days in July for my husband's company event. Our room was nice and the beds were comfortable with lots of extra pillows. The pool was big but the water was cloudy. Thats ok because my kids loved it. Now, we had a group rate for the rooms which was nice because if we had to pay full price it wouldn't be worth it. There are no restaurants around the hotel so unless you want to spend a fortune, you have to travel a while for a place to eat. No continental breakfast or anything and like the other review said if ya want a beer it is $5 a pop!! It is a nice hotel and we had no complaints. The staff was very helpful and kind.

I travel 100K miles a year and do not mind paying for service. I stayed here at $70 premium over other local hotels so I could have dinner at the bar. BIG MISTAKE! I waited 20 minutes for the bartender to show up. When he di, there were 20 people taking their dinner off his tray up to their room. When I broke through the crowd, he said expect a 1 hour wait for anything.

That was the same story through the whole place. I had a CANDYBAR for dinner. That was quick.

Hotel mgmt said they had a, " Hugh influx of people". Well, that means they were not ready for their customers.

Stay there if you don't mind being treated like a fool. Even better if you enjoy being treated like a fool. They will not let you down.

This hotel was a life saver! We were traveling with our dog abroad and this Sheraton definitely helped to make the trip more pleasant. The staff was friendly and efficient and the free shuttle service is really, really good! This is the only pet friendly hotel near to the airport that we could find (after much research). It was definitely worth it!

We were on the club level, top floor #12.

None of the guests on that level could get the keys to work in their rooms. The maintenance man had to use the master key to open everyone's room. This was still not fixed the second night.

The sink leaked from the faucet, which created a mess all over the countertop and the floor. In the morning, there was no hot water in the shower.

There was a letter in our room apologizing for the uncertain business environment and stated that room service had to be suspended during off hours. At the bottom of that letter, it revelead that this hotel was operated by a separate corporation and licensed by the Sheraton. So I don't know if the separate corporation was having financial difficulties, and they could fix things. I guess I can't hold it against the Sheraton corp.

The bed was good. Fluffy with good pillows, and we had a good night's sleep.

The view overlooked the airport, and an industrial section of newark. Safety was good. Staff at front desk appeared to be stressed, probably from frequent complaints of guests.

Hopefully you will have a better time. If not, you can buy beer from the hotel bar for $5 bottle (Heinekin) and bring it up to your room. That's what we did.

I stayed at the Sheraton Newark in August 2003 for 2 nights and throughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms were clean, and very spacious. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning this summer.

This hotel should not call itself a Sheraton. It is definitely below the standards you expect from Sheraton hotels. The staff did not seem to care very much about this hotel at all. Our room was dirty: there was hair stuck on the bathroom wall next to the towels, and some dirty towels were left on the desk in our room. Service at the hotel restaurant was not much better. We waited a long time for our food, and the servers were no where to be found.

Definitely would not stay at the Sheraton Newark again.

Stayed here three nights with Franklin Group Travel. Rooms were large and very clean. Staff was very helpful. Only problem was 2 of the four elevators were down on entire stay. Would recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed at the Sheraton for 1 night prior to our trip to England and 1 night following our return in April 2004. The room itself was very nice -- large and clean. My complaints were with the staffing -- the hotel was overrun with tour groups arriving in buses when we arrived and they did not have nearly enough staff on hand to handle the influx of guests. Also, on return to Newark airport, we waited more than 30 minutes for the hotel's shuttle back to the hotel. This was at midnight -- its not like all the shuttle vans were busy taking people to and from the airport. Multiple attempts were made using the airport courtesy phone before someone finally picked up at the hotel. Shuttle vans from the other hotels had made 2 or 3 pickups before the Sheraton van finally arrived. Given the problems checking in and with the shuttle back from the airport, I think I will try a different hotel the next time we start a trip out of Newark.

What a nice surprise! A very nice, clean hotel. Room was spacious and very well appointed. Balony overlooking the pool was very nice. Easy on and off I-78. If I had a complaint, I would avoid the breakfast buffet.

It was overpriced and the food less than mediocre. Overall, our overnight stay was very pleasant and at a great price!

My recent stay at the Sheraton Newark Airport hotel was fabulous! I appreciate hotels that willingly open their doors to Christian based organizations and functions. This hotel not only offers all amenities but the service provided was impeccable. In particular, 'ralph' had very much patience with 2 Texas church girls who just couldn't seem to find the right 'cool room' but thanks to Ralph he sat us down and searched throughout then came back for us and the room temperature was EXACTLY what we wanted. Thank you Ralph- and thank you Sheraton!
