Probably because of my superior memory skills and lack of anything better to do with my time (I also type at a moderately fast speed of 73 words/minute). My favorite animal is the leopard (even though we didn't see one) because they are smart, fast, and don't like to be bothered by humans. However, I should not be held accountable for ma...

June 21st: When we landed at the New York Laguardia Airport we payed for a shuttle to our hotel. The culture shock was almost instant once we stepped out of the shuttle onto the sidewalk outside the Sheraton. My initial response was: "What did I get myself into?" The traffic was insane. Drivers drive crazy and are constantly on their horns. The sidewalks are crowded with people in a rush to get where ever they are going. We adults instantly became glued to our children. There was a 1:1 ratio ...

Review of ny sheraton

from psdabj
Just returned from a stay at this hotel. I was concerned about this hotel after reading reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. We were upgraded to the club level on the 45th floor with a view of Central Park. Any concerns or questions were answered immediately. We were allowed to check in at 12:30 and a late check out at 2:30. The room we stayed in was newly renovated. It is a small room and bathroom, but all new and very nice. The only complaint is that they don't have any childrens channels on the T.V. They need to get either Nick, Cartoon Network or Disney. It is a great location and we were very happy and would recommend this hotel as long as you get one of the newly renovated rooms.

Typical sheraton...nice place

from magatoni
This is a nice place! Great location and a typical sheraton with all the amenities....parking is expensive as heck!...so take the train!...we upgraded to a king bed and it was very comfortable.....lobby was crowded all of the time and there were people everywhere but it was newly decorated (recent renovation)....the bar has plasme TV's and is a great place to catch a flick...bathrooms are on the small side but itwas clean as was our room.....all in all, I would stay here again but not for their regular rates.....I got a good hotwire deal!

Very Nice Establishment!

I have to disagree with a lot of these negative reviews and give this property a good rating overall. I was also here during this dance convention. The group of young girls was very well chaperoned, and no problems arose from that group.ALSO, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS NEW YORK CITY!! Unless you stay at the Ritz or J.W. Marriott or something of that nature -- you are going to encounter SOME PROBLEMS. Yes the hotels are large, and the city is loud by nature. Almost ALL ROOMS in New York City are small.I found my room to be very well decorated and in good condition. Everything was in working order, and I DID pay an extremely discounted rate through Hotwire. The entire staff I encountered was very friendly. If you are friendly to them, they will be friendly to you. The lobby is currently undergoing renovation.Overall, I found this hotel to be in good condition, and my stay was very pleasant.

Thoroughly satisfied!

We spent four nights at this hotel and had no problems whatsoever. The room was clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable. It was quiet enough for us to sleep in whenever we wanted to. The private club on the 44th floor had a wonderful view and gracious staff, and the sports pub downstairs was fun and gave very speedy service. After a minor mishap on the elevator, the concierge made sure I was okay, and then insisted on treating me and my husband to a free breakfast in the restaurant. EVERYONE in the hotel was gracious and attentive, and you can't beat the location!

Terrible experience

A group of young girls from Vermont went to nyc for a dancing convention. We stayed at the sheraton towers. Our check in was 2pm we finally got in at 10 pm. We were promised rooms next to each other, they were not. our rooms were very dirty. the faucet did not work the bath tub backed up with water the hair dryer was broken and the coffee maker did not work. The staff was not helpful as a matter of fact rude.

There are so many hotels to choose from in nyc so PLEASE don't stay here

Reminds me of Las Vegas

from hanlgt
This hotel is huge and people are busting out everywhere like in a large Las Vegas Hotel. Each day there was a line for the doorman to get a taxi and once I just took the subway and got to my destination faster. The location is great, but my biggest complaint was that the room and bathroom were small and everything looked sort of cheesy and "motel-like". I was particularly repulsed by the carpets on the floor of my hall (14th floor) which were so dirty and gross that my daughter remembered which one our room was by what she called the "vomit stain"near the door. But the worst thing was the problem with the shower. I was happily taking a shower and suddenly the water came out scalding hot and I literally had to jump out in order to adjust the thing. It wouldn't adjust! I etiher got scalding or cold. I finally gave up and filled the bathtub to take a bath in normal tempurature water. I immediately called the front desk and they said they were sorry and they credited my Starwood account with 4,000 points so I thought that was fair and I was leaving the next day anyway. It was weird. I wouldn't stay there again, though--I would try somewhere else.

Great Experience

Great Hotel! Don't let these other reviews scare you! Absolutely beautiful remodeled facilities...decent sized rooms (for NYC)...a great location....and great beds! We had zero complaints, the staff was super with suggestions of places to go and we had no problems with our Hotwire reservation! Very recommended!

Not Bad at All

from cooldogg90
My fiance and I recently stayed at the Sheraton NY Towers and I have to say we were not the least bit disaapointed with my experience. Check-in took less than 2 minutes, I presented my last name, and some identification and I was given my room keys. Very easy and painless. My room was comfortable and spacious enough for our weekend trip. there are larger rooms if you need the space for business. The focal point of this room is definitely the bed, (no bugs) I believe it was called the "Deluxe Sleeper". It was huge, soft and almost perfect. In regards to the hotel staff, I experienced nothing but the highest level of professionalism. Room service was supposed to be at our room in under 30 minutes or less. We order twice and it came once in 25 minutes, the second time in 17. I can't complain. The staff was curteous and professional. Towels were replaced and the room was cleaned while we were out. Although the hotel was somewhat expensive, this can be expected when you are staying at a hotel less than 1/2 a mile from Times Square. I was very pleased with this hotel and on my next trip I will stay here.

Worst hotel experience in my life

from santafe505
I took an attractive internet package for a week's stay at this hotel I am an upgraded club member with Starwood (parent of Sheraton). I checked with Starwood to see that it would have the amenities I expected in New York. From the moment I checked in, my problems began. Check-in told me that I had no reservation. The room assigned finally was small. smelly, and unattractive. Room service was inedible, but expensive. Management acknowledged NONE of my requests - towels (one in room, housekeeping on the second day, a used prophylactic under the bed, and a genuinely dirty bathroom). The staff acted like they had rehearsed a play about rudeness and bad manners in New York. I asked the concierge about tickets for a certain play; he said he needed to check in the office. After 35 minutes, I guessed that he wasn't coming back....and no one else had been by the desk in that period. I left, after finding better accommodations at a better price, on the third day, and "ate" the remainder of my tour package. BEWARE, this is the single worst hotel in the United States !

The bed bugs do bite!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Although I stayed in the Sheraton New York, in at least a two hunderd dollar room a night, I have been bitten by bed bugs. I have more than a 100 bites. And now even after one week and the use of anti histamine I have still a lot of itching. The Sheraton management did not take my complaint serious and asked if I was allergic of the washing powder they used. Even that the management knew that other guests complained about the bed bugs and they offered us a change of rooms.
