Yogyakarta is Indonesia's this biggest city and a very popular tourist destination because of it's temples and active volcano nearby. There is a famous road called malioboro which seems to have a million people on it as well as most of the backpacker hotels. The standout temples to see are called borobudur and Prambanan which are UNESCO sites. We visited Prambanan which consists of 240 separate temples! It was an awesome ...

Then decided to rent some mountain bikes and try and watch the sunset. Obviously we flopped it and missed ...

Our day started as usual with a huge breakfast delivered to our villa by a bevy of young women in sarongs. We then spent a couple of hours with the owner of our resort. He's Dutch and he and is wife came here three years ago and built three villas. He took us on a tour of three new villas he is building and we ...
... headed out on our hired scooter into the maelstrom of random Javanese traffic and made our way to Prambanan, one of the largest Hindu temple sites in the world. While the main temples were fair swarming with tourists, mainly of the local variety, it only took a short, somewhat sweaty, stroll to leave the masses behind and have the temples to ourselves. Sadly the complex took something of a battering from the 2006 earthquake that shook the area and work to repair the damage ...
