... After an admin morning (traveling is not all play after all!) we headed up the coast to Concon. Concon consists of 6 beaches and the taxi driver conned us by taking us to the furthest most horrid one. We rapidly jumped in a bus back to one of the nicer ones where we enjoyed watching the pelicans over lunch. ... here is spectacular, sunny and not too hot. Oh yeah, today was September 11th. The date is memorable here not because of 2001, but rather 1973 when Chilean president Allende was overthrown and killed leading the way for dictator Pinochet. The US government wanted this overthrow and probably help to make the conditions possible. There were supposedly some protests in Santiago but I didn´t notice anything in Valparaiso.
