We have stayed here before and love it. The staff throughout the hotel is excellent. We upgraded to the Club Floor, which had a nice breakfast and evening appetizers that can suffice for dinner. Free soft drinks but no wine or beer for a fee, which other hotel Club floors have. A BIG miss. I wouldn't do the Club floor again for $35/day. The room could use a pad/pen, an outlet at the desk lamp, and a phone at the desk. But I would stay here again for the service and location.

Not for paying travelers
This hotel near Miami Airport - caters to airline crews, passengers whose flights have been canceled, etc.
The rooms are modest (and noisy) - the staff, including the shuttle, cannot handle the volume of customers late at night or in the morning that are put up at the Wyndham by the airlines.
The shuttle I traveled on (after waiting for several that were totally full), was overfilled (flight crews, an American Air flight to Lima canceled, etc.) - several flight crew from United Airlines got off because of their concern of the unsafe conditions and paid for a taxi to the hotel.
Not a pleasant experience.
Close to the airport, but the restaurant was bad
We stayed two nights at the Wyndham Miami Airport in April 2004. We had a very early flight so we wanted to be close to the airport. That was the best part. Our room was clean and comfortable. However, because this hotel is close to the airport (probably the closest), they get a lot of "stopover" guests. In two nights stay, we heard four different guests on both sides of our room. One of the guest was yelling at his children, we could hear everything.
The front desk staff were somewhat friendly, but didn't go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The worst part was the breakfast buffet. It was rather expensive $15.00 per person (not kids), it took FOREVER for the waiter to bring me coffee. he skipped me and went to other guests who came in after we did. I finally had to ask the hostess. The french toast was hard and dry and the buffet was supposed to be open until 11:00, but they started to put everything away at 10:30am. so I didn't get to eat as much as I wanted.
The pool was clean and quiet, except for airplane noise. My kids really enjoyed it. However, there is a "nature" path on the otherside of the pool and my son's football landed in the creek (swamp, sewage run-off) on the other side. When I tried to fish it out with a stick, a very large, brown slithering creature went behind some rocks in front of me. Needless to say I forgot about the football. There was a very nice exercise room and sauna.
If you need a clean place to stay at a reasonable price, and is very close to the Miami Airport, then I would recommend this hotel. Just don't eat there.
We liked this Wyndham!
We think the bad reviews on this hotel are undeserved. They almost kept us from booking a reservation here, but we took a chance and were pleased. The hotel has been redone and the lobby is beautiful. Our room was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Plus, we only paid $80 for it by booking online with Wyndham. We suggest enrolling in the Wyndham By Request program. It's free and we had beer and a snack waiting for us when we got to our room. Plus, we got a free room upgrade. If the view from our room hadn't been an ugly gravel lot, we would have given it an excellent rating.
Not worth a penny over $70
Ok place. At least all the walls are sound-proof. I paid $109 for a double. Stayed 2 days. The area around the hotel is terrible. Not easy to get to anything. Only 10 minutes from downtown Miami and 15 to the beach. ONLY ONE ELEVATOR FOR THE WHOLE PLACE!!! Rooms are not that great. THEY DONT EVEN GIVE YOU WASH CLOTHES!! I have a 3 yo boy and he requires a wash clothe about ever 4 hours. Had to ask for them every day! Staff is mediocre. No value at this hotel unless you can get a room for $70 or less. The hotel is in an industrial area practically on the runway. I would probably never stay here again. It was MUCH cheaper than other hotels but about on par with a Days Inn. I expected more from this hotel for the price and the name.
Not bad for the money.
We stayed at the Wyndham hotel from 15 to 18 Feb 2004. We had never stayed in an airport hotel and expected the worst from all the other reviews, but actually it was ok. Our room overlooked the beautiful golf course and our 4 year old loved plane-spotting as the planes went to and from the airport.
Unfortunately, things generally took a long time to get done, as in room service, poolside service, porters, queries, etc, as if there were not enough people running the hotel. Also the pool was too cold to use and the hotel food was pricey and not very nice, with no variation at the buffet at breakfast. Probably all ok for $72 per night, though. Was it?
One good thing, we left a pair of shorts when we left the hotel for Cancun and four days later when we returned and asked for it, they gave it back to us although it took almost an hour to sort this out. We just made it in time to the airport to fly back to England.
It did not feel too bad overall. Get a car though, to see the rest of Miami.
A Vacation that Turned Into a Headache
My husband and I spent a weekend at the Wyndham Miami Airport Hotel. The bed linen was disgusting- we found dried blood on our blanket. We left a note for the maid to put a new blanket on the bed and when we returned the following night found the blood stained blanket back on our bed. We politely informed the front desk clerk when checking out and she rushed us out the door before the long line of customers checking in could hear us complaining. I later called a manager who took my name and number and 3 weeks later we still haven't heard from them. My brother-in-law also stayed at the hotel and his bed had ants in it. However, they did give him another room. How generous of them! The nightmare continued when the hotel charged my credit card three times for the 2 night stay. It took 3 weeks of calling every day for it to be settled. No one at that hotel returns phone calls or has any idea what is going on. I would definitely discourage anyone from dealing with this particular Windham Hotel.
Location maybe worth your while
I had to spend a night in Miami and decided to stay at the Wyndham. However, service was fair. While the gentleman at the Concierge desk was very helpful, the driver of the Airport shuttle was not nor was service in the restaurant good.The room was reasonable. The best part of staying here is how close it is to Miami International Airport.
Close to the airport, but that's about it
We spent two separate nights here on our way intoand out of Miami. The first night, front deskservice was decent, and there were no problemswith our room. We thought we would stop by the bar for a drink. Service was terrible - we almostwalked out for lack of finding anyone to provideus with a bill. Plus, our martini and cosmopolitancame in wine glasses. I guess the bar doesn'thave much in the way of glasswear.On our return trip, the front desk service wasincredibly bad. Dealing with the staff made melong for a nice, helpful and friendly ATM machine.We had booked via ***, and there was amixup on the check in date. The hotel treatedus like dirt, refused to check us in, and in generalwas extremely unhelpful. I called the ***, and spoke with two very helpful people.They even called the manager directly (he wastalking to her on the phone in front of me). Theyended up in argument on the phone. I've neverhad to argue as much to pay money before. The manger even made them fax a letter to thehotel.I'd skip this hotel on my next trip through Miami.
Nice Hotel if you Walk there!
I recently stayed at the Wyndham Miami Airport Hotel and was in shock to find out that guests have to pay an additional $6.00 a day to park their car in the hotel parking lot. This has nothing to do with valet service. Thats more money of course. Other than this little way

nice and clean. Very nice pool area that was never crowed.

The hotel was comfortable and clean, it was a little bit out of the way but the staff were very helpful with directions. We paid $60 via a website and I would say that was just about the right price for this hotel.
