... with my childhood “galpal” and her family, she refused to drive 20-30mn to where we were staying to see us. *sigh* 20-30mn sure does make you tired after a long day of lounging around the house! Her refusal hit a nerve in me, and I don’t regret the 3-4hr drive my friend and I made to DC in that same night. It seems as though that nerve was struck again.
It’s the friends who go out of their way for you that really count.
probably the coolest thing I've done in GA. Mi italiano and I wanted to do athletic, adventurous things in GA, and this is what we found!
Although it was fun, it was rather short lived and rather expensive...
alas, this inspires us to make our own!....but where?

This time walking around Atlanta, I couldn't feel these things at all; I felt like a stranger who had abandoned this city a decade ago, memories long lost.
It's not that I've been away for 2 years, but I also felt different because I was showing Atlanta to my boyfriend, therefore I felt more obligated to show him ...
... living room, a closet / hallway, a WC (tiny room with just a toilet), a bathroom / laundry room (just a bathtub and sink), a kitchen (with a couch), and my back “porch” overlooking the Transsiberian railroad.
I’m happy with these “smaller” living standards; I’ve got the basic necessities! I guess my age also affects my preferences, I’m sure that when I’m older, I’ll want a bigger house, etc…

I hope everyone is well...I am going to be so sad to leave here. Next time it will definately be longer. I am not sure if I will be able to write again, maybe once more since we have safari this weekend and then we leave.
We have a phone here by the way so if you need to get ahold of myself, Nanda (Kelly), or Sima (Katie) you can call this as it is our own personal: +254 0720112171

... us through. So, it is a mistake to assume that 'untangling yourself' or 'managing by yourself' or the colorful image of 'unrolling yourself from a tangled up mess' emphasizes only yourself. Really, it is the managing of yourself to find someone who can--and more importantly WILL-- help you. Everyone can help you, but only those who will are effective. So, greetings from a wet, rainy ATL. Who knows what adventures might await us when we actually leave the country??? KH
Atlanta, Georgia, United States sedebrouillier... I bought a couple of advance train tickets some discount plane fares. (I got a flight for Dublin to Prague for 1 EUR w/tax = 10 EUR total!) My crazy plan involves going from Atlanta (connecting in Newark) to Brussels to Paris to Madrid to Barcelona to London to Dublin to Prague to Amsterdam to Brussels to Atlanta. Sound crazy enough? Hells yeah... May 15, 2008 The day finally arrives where I have to leave so I get Messie to drive me. I tell ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States asaethangIn the interest of keeping friends and family informed, we are online while waiting in the Delta Crown Room at the Atlanta Airport. We will leave around 4 p.m. to go to the gate and try to wheedle an upgrade to first class from the gate agent. Our attempts at the ticket counter were futile - there appears to be a Catch-22 where you can only upgrade before the day of departure except that on an international flight you cannot upgrade on the day of departure. Unless ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States travelingwriter... missed having a "sense of place" in India - like I seemed to get in China having those two days of being a tourist. And while I thoroughly enjoyed China and would love to return, I suspect in my heart that India may, in fact, move me more within my heartspace when I have the time to properly understand what the hell is going there. One thing stands out for me in India and that is the women. I was so moved by the fact that in any ...
