On Tuesday December 23rd we invaded the Garrett household. Matt, Dianna, Jack and Ethan live in Lakewood a western suburb of Denver tucked into the foothills.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a sign hand drawn by Dianna welcoming visitors from the North Country.

We came back and had some lunch and a babysitter came to watch us while Mum, Dad, Chris and Gail went on a Brewery tour. We just hung out for a while until all the parents came back. ... to get out to IAD, where I managed to get on the late flight to DEN, which had been oversold.
Whew. I'm exhausted. And this is only the first small step on the long trip halfway across the world to Thailand’s capital, one of my absolute favorite places in the world. I hope the rest of the trip goes smoother than this wacky beginning. But somehow I suspect that shall not be the case.
