Historical Traveler Reviews of Sheraton Chicago Northwest At Arlington Park Arlington Heights
Average place, decent price
from Girloadventure
This hotel is easy to spot from the Interstate and it is near the Arlington racetrack. Super comfy beds and a good rate (we ended up using Starwood Points but Travelocity's rate was something like $70 a night). Fairly quiet. Fairly clean. Hotel could use some updating (Carpets look worn, a 70s look all around). The pool and jacuzzi are in a basement which looks semi-under construction. Our shower had good water pressure (must be those pre-water conservation fixtures).
Best Rate Guaranteed NOT GUARANTEED

Just wanted to warn fellow travelers that while the hotel is great, do not book thru the Starwood Site. The Best Rate Guaranteed in bright red letters should actually say "The best rate guaranteed for 24 hours. I made the mistake of booking a non-refundable room for July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th depending on the bright red letters that said "best rate guaranteed" Found a better rate, but I'm out of luck. While this is a nice hotel do yourself a favor and book your room thru some other method than the Starwood site!

What a Wonderful Stay!!

This hotel really exceeded my expectations! (We won it on a discount site for under $50.)
Even though it was listed as a 3-star, it has 4-star written all over it...a grand lobby, over-sized rooms, great bedding, a state of the art fitness area, two restaurants, a game room, great customer service and more!
We had a room on the 11th floor and never had to wait for an elevator. Nor did we encounter any big groups of kids. The room was quiet and our stay was pretty much perfect.
Beautiful hotel...awesome pool

This is a really nice hotel. I just lucked into it on Hotwire and got a great rate. I showed them my Starwood Card when I checked in and got a very nice room with an fabulous bed. The room was large, you can actually open the windows and there was a 3 way bulb in one of the lamps. The best part about this hotel was its fitness center, they have a full length pool with an area designated for lap swimming. They also have a decent sports bar where you can order food from their main steak house. I just need to figure out how to get in this hotel again at Hotwire rates
Sheraton NW was a great stay
from dpolski
We stayed at the Sheraton NW in Arlington Heights during the annual Arlington Heights Million horserace, during which the hotel was completely booked. The room we had overlooked a beautiful open area and we could see the track off in the distance. We received wonderful service, the rooms were clean and updated, and our price through Hotwire was very resonable. The room setup is ideal if you have toddlers. You can shut the door to a huge closet area where you can keep your suitcases and other things a toddler would love to get into. I would suggest avoiding the breakfast buffet as it was expensive, bland and cold. We would definately stay here again.
What a pleasant stay!!!

My wife and I were in the northwest suburbs of Chicago for a midweek Arts Conference at Willow Creek Community Church in June of 2004. We got an unbelievable rate on Priceline of $40 per night for the Sheraton Chicago Northwest, and it certainly was an incredible bargain. The rooms were relatively large, with a huge closet and changing area adjacent to the bathroom. The toilet and shower were separated from the sink area by a door, a feature which we always appreciate. The rooms were beautiful (not usually something that concerns me very much), with a navy blue color scheme which made us wonder why more hotels don't decorate similarly. The beds were comfortable as advertised. (They are apparently so proud of their beds that they had one on display in the lobby.) The hotel has a very large pool (at least for a hotel) and a nice hot tub. It was very close to the highway, which allowed for easy transit to various locations. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was free and unlimited.
We commented that it was apparent that the hotel was old. However, they had taken great strides to renovate and make it fully functional and even beautiful. We were most impressed with our stay and would love to come back to the Sheraton Chicago Northwest if we ever return to the area!
Handsome full-service hotel

The Sheraton Chicago Northwest is a handsome property. The rooms are HUGE and decorated in classy navy bedspreads and drapes. And the views from the higher floors are quite impressive. I couldn't locate a "sleep" button on the TV, but there was one on the clock/radio. The front desk staff was courteous.
Just about anything one might want is here: a gift shop, a full-blown workout center/pool, several restaurants, an ATM, and so on. Room service, while not inexpensive, was greatly appreciated since I was pretty tired by day's end. (Nothing like a hearty burger and a beer when you're tired and hungry!) I would definitely recommend this hotel!
