... portion of my blog (fear not, there are some more non-thematic entries to come...) and draws them nicely together. Hollywood. The land of dreams. Where anything and everything is possible. It was a rainy evening when I first hit the boulevard. Somehow, Soho looks cool in the rain...the neon light bouncing off the wet pavements and puddles, the squalor and dirt Blade Runner-esque in its beauty.  Oddly, that ...

... what movie was filmed there. We down some ciders, chill near the out door caravan, place is so retro, awesome! So good to feel like a local. ... of our cabin numbers. I asked why they did that. She said that if there were more than two bottles they would charge 15% corkage. I asked if two was the norm and she said yes and no corkage would be charged but the passengers before us had 8 bottles and she sent details of that to the ship – presumably the front desk. I wonder how they determine 15% for wine carried on board and if they don’t charge if you don’t open them ….Oh well….

Immigration inspection at 6:30am today in LA. Typically this is an insanely long process with lots of waiting, but this inspection was the fastest I've ever gone through! We got our passports right away and a few minutes later, we were on deck 7 with a short wait for the gangway go-ahead, and Lily* and I were 3rd and 4th in the immigration line. We were quickly back on the ship and grabbed some brekkie together and went to check the tour book to see if we could sign ...
