There is something to be said about a good tidy before stacking the packs on the front porch. It always helps me to clear my head and use all daily items and imagine whether they will be used or not. I also love to come home after a trip to a home that doesn't require a clean up to add to the acclimatization of the return. The whole point of an adventure is to explore, create, think and appreciate, not set yourself up ...

... Brandy and Krista, and their families. As usual, Linda fixed way too much food, but it sure was good. They also treated us to a nostalgic evening at a German restaurant where we had a delicious and authentic dinner. We had a great time, and it was great to get to see them.

      Summary

Drove 140 miles on 2.5 hours.

      Highlights

The purpose of this stop was to take a peak at the legendary Augusta National Golf Course, the home of the US Masters golf tournament.

We have enjoyed our stay at Mistletoe State Park for the last 5 days. The park is about 50 miles from Augusta, Ga and is on the Clarks Hill Lake. This lake is the start of the Savannah River and is a very popular place to fish.

On Saturday we volunteered to help cleanup the trails of the park. There were a lot of volunteers and even some Army men and women who are stationed nearby. We enjoyed our ...

... Brown had a home in Aiken.

Polo was first played in Aiken in 1882. Polo ponies were imported by Tom Hitchcock in the 1880's. Tom and Tommy Hitchcock were considered to be the best at Polo (10 goalers). It is said that F. Scott Fitzgerald is quoted as saying that Tommy Hitchcock was the basis for "The Great Gatsby." Whitney field remains the oldest polo field still in existence.

And, of course, there is more, but I will spare you!!!
