... bonus. I think we crossed the border around 1:30am. I didn't have to do anything but felt the bus stop for about 25 minutes. EGA had kept my passport and took care of the border formalities returning it to me in the morning stamped. We arrived into Porto Alegre just after 9am which means I missed the 9am departure executivo departure I was optimistically targeting. To be honest u think it had sold out anyways. ... to the hostel. I collected my bag and said goodbye to the staff at he hostel and Katie and Vitorio drove me to the bus station. Sad to say goodbye - they have been so hospitable and I'm glad to have made a new friend in Katie. I bought some provisions for the bus, which is very safe and comfortable. They also provide a snack and drink. This is my last day in Brazil - 12 days into the trip and I'm on the way to ...

After another futile attempt at trying to find Brazil t-shirts I walked back to the hostel via Bom Fim ...

Oh Brasil... I do not know when I will be back. Still so much more of you to see, of course, but, to steal from Maya Angelou, it is not that I will necessarily remember what you said or what I saw, it is how you make me feel. To my wonderful Brazilian friends, Vivienne, Cristiane, Diego and everyone else, thankyou so much.

Until next time, or perhaps if you come to visit,

... so many generous people in one day!! The next day was match day!! We were seeing Australia vs. Netherlands. We walked down to the fan zone and then walked with all the crowds to the station, the atmosphere was amazing and the sun was shining. I picked up a yellow FIFA brazil shirt and alongside my green jacket allowed me to pass for an Aussie fan and we went to the station. We has seats behind the goal, near the ...
