I am a bit behind with my entries so I try to catch up because I do not want to miss to tell you about this wonderful journey. The weekend before the Chinese National Day (one week of holidays!) Ricarda and I went to the Yellow Mountains. We flew there by airplane although the bullet train would have made it in 3 hours as well. Anyway…

On Saturday lunch time we went to Hongqiao airport (the smaller one of the 2 airports of Shanghai – less busy and not so ...

International travel is difficult. We ate breakfast at the hotel, and I was very glad to know that soon I would have a normal American breakfast. We headed to the airport around 9:30, and we had to say our goodbyes to Shelley and let her go catch a bus to go to the train station to go back to Nan Jing. It is always good to see ...

... didn't want to get stuck on the mountain. Again, that was worth it. I got to see another completely gorgeous side of the mountain I hadn't been able to see before. This time everyone was really exhausted. And we still had to go to the waterfall. Boo. I was cranky. If it had been a little hike I would have been fine, but it was a fairly large one, especially considering all the walking we had done the day before. More than half the group didn't go up all the way. I half ...
