... about that". The boat was much better than I expected it would be. We took the Chinese tour boat rather than the western one as it was half the price, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The cabin looked almost the same as the photo we had been shown and the boat looked like it wouldn't sink too soon so that was a bonus! It was a really lovely way to end our time in China.

They were sitting around a table with beer and cigarettes playing an extremely competitive game of Janken. Of course the loser drank. After a nice relaxing cruise up the river, and a not so relaxing struggle up 200 steps with all my baggage, I farewelled the Yangtze. A great experience. A special place that is seeing some dramatic changes these days.
