... Musik im Kreis, Mopeds gurken um ihn rum. In einer zerbröselnden Tür eine alte, "vollschlanke" Frau in bauchfreiem rosa Muscleshirt schunkelt mit. Zwei Müllmänner liegen schlafend auf dem Gehsteig. Es ist heiß und anschließend kommt der Boxer von Simon and Garfunkel. Da wird die ohnehin schon ohrenbetäubende Mucke nochmal höher gedreht.
Überall auf den alten Häusern wunderschönes Graffiti. Als wollten die jungen Brasilianier, die augenscheinlich ...

... The city is a mish mosh of buildings, very colorful, covered with graffiti. It is hard to tell what any given building is for, whether it is a shop, a home, an industry, or abandoned. There are people everywhere, many more young people than old. It has been the weekend, so that may account for the large number of people that seem to be just hanging out....sitting at open bars, playing pick up games ...

... Yachtclub, in dem Julius Eltern den Nachmittag verbrachten. Dort gab es Kokoseis. Die letzte Station war die Altstadt von Recife, in der gerade ein paar Musikgruppen unterwegs waren. Ausserdem gabs einen kleinen Markt, auf dem wir erstmal etwas gegessen haben.
So habe ich an einem Nachmittag einen ganzen Haufen typischer Speisen aus Recife kennengelernt. Lecker wars.
