So we arrived in buenos aires 6 hours earlier than we thought rain pooring down! We realized how unprepared we were when it cam to deciding how to even leave the airport. We decided to try out what we though was a "cheap" method, but we soon found out that it would be an expensive lesson! Somehow we decided on a small place near the av de mayo in centro area, our street runs off the worlds largest street, stretching 9 lanes each way! But still it appears pretty quite.
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina billyandellen... going to happen. Argentina strangely adopted two different types of electrical sockets, one with the European prongs and the other with the Australian prongs, all over the country. Even in one building, two different types of sockets could co-exist on the wall.
TIP: For US travelers, bring both types of converters when visiting Argentina!
My next mission was to go shopping for myself and friends. I sort of received a shopping list from some people before ...
... fund kid and don't need to work. But you're a douchebag."
The girls didn't like this approach much, but I was ******* myself. We got bored soon after that, and got a taxi back. For some reason Haley's phone wasn't working, so Troy had no way of getting into her house. He came back to my hostel (which he practically lives at now anyway) and checked into my dorm for the night. The bloke on the desk wasn't too happy at his lack of passport, but let it slide.

An amazing bottle of red wine costs £1, the same as two cokes...see where I'm going?
Every single city in Argentina have the exact same street names!!! For example every single town has a street called San Martin, 25 de Julio, Juy Juy etc etc. We feel ...
... de Mayo, Avenida de Mayo (May Avenue) stretches for approximately one mile and terminates at the National Congress building - just as Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. connects our Capitol building with our president's office, the White House. To further the comparison, the design of the Argentine National Congress building is ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina riversbeyond... he could no longer stand being in a room with us. After a lunch break where I realized I had been incorrectly buying my fruit all month (you are Not supposed to pick it up, woops!) I had Spanish language class, followed by Tango dance class and finally tradiciones y culturas argentinos. The tango dance class in phenomenally fun, I can't wait to actually be able to go to a tango club down here and dance properly. The last class, tradiciones y ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina larkinrose... orientation but I am very much ready to begin classes. Many of you may not know, but the particular program I am in is a total immersion program which means that I am supposed to speak spanish 100% of the time. Obviously, I don't always follow this rule very gruelingly, but I am speaking spanish at least 95% of the time (which is pretty friggin good). In my program I also have the advantage of taking classes with ONLY Argentinian students instead of international students ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina supergrr... school with a super small nokia. It's a phone that would make my dad jealous. It took me about 20 minutes but I was able to convert the language to English. My number to call from the states is 011 54 9 11 3364 9256 ( This is what Derrick tried and it worked). At 18:00 I left to go to la bomba. This is a live drum show. They play drum beats at a contained ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina gpalecek... little dinner of 3 became 4, but quickly became 5 when he asked Anness to come along. Then it became 7, when Scott and Lisa asked to join, and then 9, when R&D also expressed interest. But then yesterday, Martin had proposed going to a tango show this evening and everybody agreed - of course, I had missed this because everybody was polled just before going on yesterday's excursions, and because we had last discussed this dinner ...
